Here's mine, bed d-rings attached to the seatbelt bolts, rope with 2 knots and 2 carabiners to limit how far he can get out the windows(not pictured with knots) attach to the drings, a lead to attach to the dogs harness with a standard clip for the harness and a swivel attaching it to the seat lead. Bought most of it at tractor supply but I had the d-rings from the trucks bed I had removed and the caribiners from another place.

My first setup like this didnt have any swivel pcs and was a PITA cause the dog would twist it up really bad and get stuck or get free somehow. Now its duel swivel(probably overkill but I liked the ideal of the double ring to attach to the lower lead) so the pup doesnt get tangled anymore. So far this setup is great and I just need to finish off the sewn ends with solid pc's of leather to smooth it out.

My pup moves around A LOT and I've found that he gets a lot less tangled if the tether is up high instead of at the bottom of the seat. The seat latch on my tacoma is already up high so that was easy, but in my girlfriends car it's on the back of the seats so I just made a chain of them that go up and over where the headrest normally is.

Are you ever worried about getting in a car accident and your pup getting hurt because there's too much lead for him? I like the idea of using my seat belts because they are designed to catch in case of an accident but there's no easy way to do so. Maybe I'm being too paranoid.

I figure anything is better than my pup being completely free. If is a minor wreck, I'm not really worried. If its a serious wreck I want something capable of keeping him in the truck rather than being thrown out. I think there is more risk of serious injury/death if he was ejected from the truck. I hope by using a harness it will spread the pressure enough to keep him from being seriously injured. I originally created my set up with the main worry being him wanting to climb into my lap while driving. He could have fit the day I got him since he was only 8lbs but I needed to ensure he didnt think it was ok as he grew. Theres no way I could drive if he climbed into my lap now that he's at 60lbs and still growing.

Yeah, that’s her baby. She absolutely adores him. Can’t even scold him with her in the room or she’ll cry like crazy.

Yes! My boyfriend works for an offroad company so he cut this, powder coat it and laser etched it. We get lots of compliments!
    MVIMG_20171217_150252.jpg

So today I ordered a master lock bike cable, carabiners and an 18" leash. Pictures to come but the bike cable is going across the back of the headrests and carabinered to the seat belts. Then the short leash carabinered to the cable. It'll be like a doggy zipline for her to move in the back but secured. Then all I have to do is unhook the leash and off we go. We'll see how this works haha

Husky mix. Mom was a small husky mixed with probably shepherd. Dad was a large bully mix, looked collie. I see more shepherd and husky than anything. I'm going to DNA test her eventually.
