What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Gotta find a company to make one out of hardened steel with machined pins rather than welded ones that inevitably move. Aluminum wrenches might as well take em right outta the box and throw em in the trash. The only time aluminum should be used to make a wrench is for anodized fuel fittings.

 

Wish I could find the time. I would buy those Relentless Fab armor from the guy down there too.

 

Take your new 2wd truck for a road trip to get it. That price is amazing for all that.

 

Unconvinced. I never could make the punch King provided work and then Monte bent it when he tried to use it. Here is what I am using and it works very well.

your all making me have some ideas. im going to try to forge a spanner wrench if i can get the measurements right and a mold to last more then once

 

Sounds like King sent a shitty punch. I've killed so many of those spanner wrenches helping friends with lowered cars and surprisingly I don't even bother with them anymore. If it has holes for a punch I use a punch, if it only has notches I use huge pliers. I just end up bloodying knuckles when those little spanners inevitably give up the ghost.

 

A problem I ran into when using the spanner is be able to reach the little spots. The coil bucket always seemed to be in the way.

But that could just be me, cause I’m me.

 

That is an issue regardless. A punch can also be a challenge to use because of all that stuff like control arms interfering with placement and then moving the adjustment ring.

 

Yall just need a proper spanner wrench.

 

Now that looks like beef, where does one find a quality piece like that. No alum there

 

I used a punch too, just whatever I could find still f*cked up my collars too... they’ll need replaced when rebuilt.

 

Totally would if I can trace the title down and get a duplicate through the DMV. The guy I'm buying from is selling it for his cousin who never registered it in his name and lost the title.

His story checks out with the CarFax, but it's going to be a pain to register it. I don't plan on keeping it I'm just going to fix it up nice and flip it.
