Can't strap stuff to the skids anyways, it causes reverberation of the skids during flight from vibration, they will build and build until the mounting straps crack where the skid meets the fuselagé

Sounds like you need one of these. We shove them in the helicopter when we’re out in the field and they work well.

To those that replied, thanks for the feedback on using a portable fridge as a household unit. I have the Dometic 65DZ in my Tundra already but will look into saving up for the 95DZW as a secondary.

Also.. if you're reading this.. create your Buildprint build page for your Tundra! Here're a few already created:

    Death Valley 2018: Day 5 & 6
    Eventful Trip Home

...Now, an astute reader may remember that on our way to Beatty from
the northeast, we nearly ran out of gas. Not to be outdone
coming from the southwest, the fuel light in the truck came on just as we pulled
out of Stovepipe wells - some 32 miles from Beatty...

Exactly, especially how it will just get worse and worse until you die.

They have something like that down there, it's sold at Kings.....think of it as a Lowes, but with tools, camping, atv, and 4x4 stuff

My brother owns an RV dealership and he's currently at an RV show in Coloraso Springs. He sent me this.
Conqueror off road campers. Cheapest is 20k, that one pictured is 47k. Cool but sheesh, pricey.

They are really nice and well built. There are some nice features to them. I didn't look at the weight but I would bet that most of their models are over weight for a Tacoma.

I think I saw one of those things towed behind a Jeep Cherokee. It looked absolutely ridiculous for multiple reasons. The sheer awkwardness of such a large, goofy "off road trailer" being pulled behind a tiny Cherokee was comical. If the wind caught it the Cherokee would have wound up where ever the wind sent the trailer

Another thing I don't understand is those things look like a pain in the ass to move around, impractical for a lot of trails. If you are just going to set up a "home base" and return to it every night, why not just get an RV and tow the offroad rig behind it? Is that not "overland" enough for millennials?

Then again, I suppose I'm not in their target demographic. :notsure:

Saw them at the overland expo and they are way nice! If I'm ever in the market of a trailer, this is what I'll get for sure

The problem now for people wanting to buy that brand is that they can no longer take advantage of the constantly fluctuating South African Rand or Australian Dollar. I bought my Kimberley when the AUD was 64¢ to the USD. Ordering it direct saved me a shitload of money than buying from a domestic distributor.

The 490 - one in the picture - is really big and in SA you’d rarely see anything smaller than a 105 towing them.

Well I managed to lock down time off for this year's trip. 16 days in May to hit as many green dots as possible.

    Screenshot_20180208-212045_28e05cda116a569eca9cf7d1bee5947b475bc6db.jpg

Gonna be a lot of driving and some wheeling too. Mostly I'll just be excited to be back out. Not having a tent for the winter has made it a long one

Destination points I've saved in Google maps. It's hard to show the whole map and get names of stuff. But the plan is to head down the coast road into California and then basically do a loop and make our way back towards British Columbia. The way I run trips is gonna be several hard points or must see areas and then the rest we see what we feel like doing as a group and what time will allow us to. We will be stopping along the Oregon coast, death valley I really want to happen and we will be allowing 3-4 days to spend around the lake Tahoe area;):D

Sorry, I wasn't clear enough - I got that the points were destinations. I was curious where they were (i.e. what are the 16 places), so I could possibly research them and see if they'd be interesting to me. And, for the ones in the PNW, I was going to see if they were ones I'd recommend to you :)

Well, sold my RTT a few days ago. Going back to ground tents! I got one that's even easier to set up than my CVT.
