Man you guys really reinforce the single and international mingle lifestyle for me. Currently in Europe about to head to a topples beach.

We are hosting the Mount Greylock H.S. Winter Ball tonight. It's the first time they have had it outside of the cafeteria and it should be funny to watch the high schoolers trying to mack it. There are only going to be about 150 kids, and they need TWO police officers and a bunch of chaperones. Needless to say they won't be going to the dance drunk like some of us might have done 10-20+ years ago...That said, if I see someone doing something, I'd tell them to quit the shit instead of reporting them to someone. Kids will lose soooo much these days for something like that, and as someone who made some dumb choices growing up, I've always had a problem telling on people when pulling them aside and talking to them might be a bigger help.


Talking to the gentleman who plows for me down there and we both agreed that we should have some sand down for those young drivers late this afternoon, so they can get out tonight after the dance! I can only imagine scores of young ladies (sorry @DoubleRGirl ) sliding all around our driveway and into buildings etc... I figured adding some salt would be a safe bet.

 

Last time I was at a topless beach it was all old people

Yup. Many moons ago, when I was a teenager I went to a topless beach in the South of Portugal. There's some things you can't unsee. Three generations were sitting at a table on the beach playing cards. Gens 1 & 2 were down by there belly buttons... The ratio of eeekkkk to WOW was 100:1...

 

I welcome the rain and warmer temperatures we will be getting in the next few days. I don't know if it's just me, but this winter seems to be icier than normal, I hope by Monday this ice is gone. The Red Sox truck has left for spring training, so that means spring will be here before you know it.

 

Some places are making a swing towards restorative approach to things. The main goal behind the restorative approach is to ensure the "offender" understands how their actions effected themselves and others. I coordinate circles for a local police department, the best part about this place is the offenders don't end up in the court system for doing a typical young dumb thing. But if they are caught a second time, they end up in the court system.

 

That makes sense to me, you make a mistake, learn from it. You keep doing it, you get punished. Pretty simple!! We tell children they are children and not adults 99% of the time..they get in trouble and all of a sudden "You're old enough to know better, now you're fucked"

 

Wow. That is quite an event to host. Where are you doing that?

My wife and I run a wedding venue (Bloom Meadows) and we will do it out of that. Same place where we did the father/daughter dance a couple weeks ago and where I would be willing to host the meet up in our parking lots.
