    Not all that surprised. If the tool does not fit snugly into the opening in the collar, you can expect the collar opening to get fubar. What ever tool you end up using has to fit snugly down into the opening.

    Thats a decent deal in my opinion. I always take a set rule into account. 1 cost of parts, 2 cost of new tools/material, 3 what my time is worth.

    It's an old sway away wrench. For quality spanners if check McMaster msc or somewhere similar.

    I'm still reminded of Monte's Mark on my truck everytime I refill washer fluid. It ends up cascading onto the ground through the hole he drilled into the filler neck.

    What about gas door locks?

    Oh I see, maybe take it off and go to some hardware stores and see if any match up. I don't have one so I don't know if they're shaped oddly

    My favorite part if this story is when I brought you my spare one..pulled up to your house. Reached in the back seat to grab it and the neck of that one disintegrated..
