Truxedo Lo Pro VS. Access Roll-Up

Okay I know there have been a few threads on here with comparisons between the Truxedo Lo Pro and the Access Laredo but I have not seen a whole lot for the Access Roll-up , which is somewhat similar to the Tuxedo Lo Pro.

Can anyone help me out here? I think the only real difference is that the Truxedo uses brackets that attach to the factory bed rail and the Access Roll-up has a bracket that attaches behind the factory bed rail.

BTW, I also have Rocky Mount Bike pegs in the factory bed rail. Will this cause any issues? They sit quite low and I don't think I will have a problem with either of the covers. I am leaning towards the Truxedo Lo Pro though.

I really like the look of your Truxedo Lo Pro! I still haven't seen a whole lot of pics of the Access Roll-Up though, so I don't know. How is your cover holding up?...BTW Nice Truck!

 

Thanks. Love the truck. Cover is only 1 week old, so so far doing well. The reason I opted against Access was that my factory rails would need to come off temporarily (risk of stripping a Torx bolt) and then when reinstalled, would be set away from the truck sides by an inch or so. I'm happy so far, but haven't used the cover much except to cover.

 

I just ordered an Access roll up, a friend of mine has had the same one on his silverado for 10+ years, no issues with it, hasn't faded out in the sun/rain/salt/snow psychotic weather of wisconsin, and the velcro is still working like its new, it sold me on it.

 

Why bother with brackets at all? I just got an Advantage TorzaTop and I love how easy it is to take the entire thing off (as in absolutely nothing of the cover left on the bed) in less than minute. It's also lockable to the bed so someone can't take take it off easily.

The entire unit is also small enough that you can toss it in the back of your cab (provided you have A-Cab or D-Cab) if you need full use of your bed on the go.

both great covers but i went with the Access myself. For me, the truxedo was actually more expensive but the sales man steered me to the Access (best guy I ever met, died in a car crash as the designated driver a week later-story for another time).

but his reasoning was that it created a better seal around for water tight-ness, the opening latch was stronger and easier, it was easier to adjust the tension and the velcro is much thicker (2in compared to 1in on truxedo)

ive never used the truxedo personally but my friends dad loves it on his sierra.

it also has a higher profile than the truxedo which i personally wanted so itd cover up some of that space below the rear windows on the first gen

 

I have the Access and love it.

Truxedo LowPro QT

 

I have had my Truxedo Lo-Pro on my axcess cab for almost 5 years now

I love it and it has had help up nicely

I have the original low-pro Not the QT I believe the QT is the newest Low Pro that they make in that model

It's very quiet at highway speeds. I don't here it at all unless my rear slider is open

It's a very versatile cover being able to roll it up in about 10 seconds or even remove it completely in under a minute

Ive seen many pics of the access cover and I like how the truxedo low pro sits lower and looks much cleaner

 

I have had the Access roll up on mine for about a year and the velcro is still as good as new, even with the interesting Colorado weather. I have used my factory rails without any issues.

 

Thanks guys for all the impute. I am still undecided of which one to go with but TW Sponsor Luke at Truck Alterations steered me more to the Access cover for quality and customer service. I still like the low profile look of the Truxedo though....very clean. So I'm still undecided at the moment.

I went with the Truxedo Lo Pro QT. I ordered it from Luke at Truck Alterations for $345.00 Shipped....great price! I decided against the Access Lorado for a couple reasons:

1. It sits very low and the OEM tie down cleats will not function correctly unless some modification is done.

2. The OEM rails have to be removed and placed in front of the Access rails. That means that there is a chance of stripping out the factory Torx bolts. (Yes that does happen a lot)

I like the clean look of the Truxedo. I really don't mind loosing some of the OEM cleat movement on the track, just as long as I have some movement I'm fine with that. I will post some pics after the install. Should be getting it on Monday.

Does anyone know if you can use the Toyota Cargo Divider with the Truxedo?

 

How has the truxedo lo pro held up for you (or anyone else who has had if for over a year?)

 

The Truxedo Lo Pro QT is a great top. The material is definitely made to last and heavy duty, I would just keep a conditioner to protect against UV's. My friend purchased the Access Laredo and I didn't really care for their material, but not a bad top either.

 

i vote truxedo low pro, i had one on my last truck and loved that thing. best part looks good and easy to install, full access to bed of truck.

 

Have you had to deal with truxedo's customer service? How has the velcro held up, as I hear the access velcro is 2 inches wide as opposed to truxedo's 1 inch wide.
