That's way more extreme than I want. For what I do, just need a decent set of tires and fwd....maybe a winch occasionally.

That was back in 1996 and back then it had the best suspension set up for that time period

It had 1/4 elliptical rear suspension with floating shackles and the front suspension had a buggy spring bolted to the frame with a floating shackle set up

It would RTI in the 1150's , nowadays that's not even close to what some rock crawlers can flex to

That doesn't look like fun Kevin !!

That's bringing back bad vibes when I was an electrician 30 years ago and crawling on my stomach under houses

Absolutely true, which is why I don't have one. Yet. New looking at $20k but they do drop in value fairly fast I'd go used if I do get one. For hunting in the winter on logging trails would like ground clearance, winch, heat, enclosed with wipers, platform for the dog, etc. Adds up in a hurry.

Around here they are legal to drive on the street with the safety kit (brake lights, blinkers, horn, rearview mirrors, etc). Some of these are pushing $30k. They go up in tire size, put tires on that are more streetable, big radiators, fuel cans, commo, stereos, long travel, reservoir shocks...on and on and on. Great looking rigs and they get them out and do the trails, but that cost is way out of my league. I'd have to find an old Yamaha or Kawasaki 660 up to 800 just to get in the arena and nowhere near where some of these guys get to. I see Tractor Supply has the "knock off" (reverse engineered Yamaha) about as inexpensive as you can find for brand new.

Some of those UTV's are stupid expensive with long travel suspension and other mods

There's a shop here in town that their low end rig starts about $40k. They build full on customs to run the Hammers and anything else you think you wanna run that push well into the 6 digits.

Well, we've got a lot done, but not enough. And it's raining all weekend. Hope I can find a window long enough tomorrow to move the furniture.

Basically anything you want...golfcarts, utv, atv, dirtbikes, sand rails. It just has to have the street safety gear and be registered and insurance. We don't have smog laws in Yuma County either.
