I went with the paint match despite the price tag, but you might be able to wrap it. I had a buddy that vinyl wrapped his a silver. Might be worth looking at.

Also, I'm a big fan of their revised branding of that subtle AT symbol in black vinyl. It just looks good. When I first ordered and saw some of the logo work, I was thinking about how to remove some of it, but they hit the mark with that logo.

Did you order the connectors through AT?

I'd be interested in having some just in case. Longer trips, this could become a problem.

yea that's the one i'm talking about. i know not much would fit under the overhang but it would just have my recovery trax and/or put solar to be able to slide out. just trying to not have to remove the rack to sell

Yep, I went through AT. They were around 6$ a piece.

I just wired up a switch panel with 2 12v outlets in the bed. Ran 8awg from my second battery along the frame to a fuse box in the compartment beside the 120v outlet. 40amp in line breaker by the battery. Now I can run my fridge and lights off a 12v system and it looks pretty damn OEM.

I am running a 40a blue sea breaker on the fuse box, 2ga welding wire down the frame to the passenger side of the bed and into a 6 circuit blue sea sub panel, with ground bus, attached to the frame via more 2ga. Right now the fridge is wired. Soon it will be led lighting strips, some 12v USB adapters, and god knows what else.

BTW. The round holes in the corners fit the westmarine plugs perfectly.

    https://www.westmarine.com/buy/west...dual-usb-charger-socket--15830482?recordNum=4

I also changed my bungee ball thing's shock cord with 550 cord, makes folding a much more predictable event.

For the people that are still using the bungee balls for closure, look into using a ratcheting bar clamp like this :

    https://www.amazon.com/IRWINQUICK-G...d=1517964155&sr=1-5&keywords=irwin+clamp&th=1

You open the clamp all the way, and set it in between the habitat latches, tuck your material in, ratchet it down some more, tuck material in, and so on... I can't imagine it being any easier, and it doubles as a great clamp anywhere paper towel holder at camp.

Paper towel holder is a bungee cord with a chunk of sch40 pvc stretched between two holes drilled in the rear left passenger door panel, under the arm rest.

Here's my sub panel and breaker. IMG_0300.jpgIMG_0301.jpg

I did the same, and I have two with different length loops.

Lol. Launched my first bungee into a creek a few months after I got the habitat. Good thought on the 550 cord. I don't even use a bungee anymore for some reason and it works just fine.

my only question is the length of the fabric on these holding up to weather and sun for years.

I would state the longevity is the same or similar to any of the outdoor fabrics from RTT's, Pop Up campers, etc. They should last well as long as they are maintained. If we keep them clean, hose off and dry fully when dirty, they should last a long time. As with any fabric piece, we might have to patch a little hole or something several years down the road, but honestly, it's nothing new to the outdoor fabric industry. It's relative to how many times you use it and how well you take care of it. I try to do a post trip shake down and air everything out on a sunny day shortly after. During this, a quick visual inspection will stop little problems becoming bigger.
Not concerned at all. I have every intention of mine lasting 20+ years of frequent use if well maintained.

    Hey all,

I want to install a window on the back hatch of my habitat. I want to be able to slide it open to vent, but also want it to be secure/lockable. I’m having trouble finding what I’m looking for. Any ideas? Help a brother out!

Hmmm... I would be interested to hear some ideas too... I originally was planning on installing two windoors on the sides, and a simple rectangular window on the back, as well as a slider for the cab. After having no windows for the last couple months, I actually like the feeling of security and discreetness the solid sides offer, so I am just going to install a slider window at the cab for the dogs... Might still consider a hatch window but again I kind of like the "vault" feeling of the habitat as is.

Thank you. Im very happy with how the carpet came out... I used a product called polymat, can be found on Amazon or ebay. Its very affordable, and seems like it will last quite well.

Yeah I hear ya. I like the vault feeling too, but sometimes when the weather is really bad and I don’t want to pop the tent, I’ll just sleep in the bed. Condensation becomes a big problem in the vault, especially with the bare aluminum sides. I think a small slider would be the best and easiest way to solve this problem. Also, if I completely fuck up the install, I only ruined the easily replaceable rear door haha.

Something like this. But I’m not sure this slides open. I’m guessing the depth of the window needs to be as thin as possible considering the lack of thickness of the aluminum rear hatch. A slider window would likely increase the depth
