Yea I made that mistake...I installed the lift and forgot I ordered a steel bumper back on Black Friday. Never crossed my mind to buy 650s...

What is this slightly longer 650lb spring you speak of?

I don’t remember what the spring length that comes with the 6112s. I want to say 13”? You can order springs in multiple lengths so you can just order a 650lb spring that’s longer than the 600 that comes with it

The springs on the 6112 are 14" and so are the eibach 650/700. I haven't seen any other springs that will fit in 15"

So is there a 600# spring out there that allows you get max lift without using highest circlip? Adding leaf to my dakars+ thinking 6112s don't want too much rake and don't want to max adjustment. DCLB, nothing up front but alu skid

3rd gen oem Takeoffs are reporting giving 2nd gens 1 inch lift. So can I get 3rd gen 6112s and use a higher / lower circlip? Hope this isn't a silly question. I don't want to use the highest circlip but want max lift to match Dakar + leaf without too much rake.

Does maxing out the coilover lift potentially slightly compromise the performance ? (Less travel before springs come together?, length to travel?)) Are there 2 part #s for 6112s for 2nd and 3rd gens?
3rd gen OEM regular coilover takeoffs are reported giving 2nd gens one inch lift- so are 3rd gen 6112s 1 inch (1/2" on shock)taller out of the box? maybe I could use 3rd gen 6112s set so it's not at top circlip. ? Or taller spring? The valving cant be that much diffetent the truck weights are close. Is there a 15" spring that would accomplish this with. (Think normal is 14?) 2nd gen 6112s? Once again trying reinvent the wheel here lol. Adding leaf to my Dakar pack and don't want too much rake, or to have to max compress the spring to get the right height up front. Was directed to these 15s from someone on here, cant remember who, but thanks

Look back at my posts from before, 14" 610lb spring is what's on the 6112 and Eibach 14" 650/700 is the only spring I know that fit the 6112. OME do not fit.

I can't really talk about if being on the top clip will compromise your capabilities. I know it's a possible issue as it's the reason 5100 are set at 0 with 887 to give lift without having so much preload. It's still a new setup to a lot of people and that's including myself as I'm on the top clip. So I'm sure no one has a positive answer.

Bilstein stated that the valving is different and did not want people using the 2nd gens 6112s on the 3rd gens, but people are doing it anyways. Bilstein made specific 6112 for us so I will take their word for it.

I have no answer if a 3rd gen 6112 will give you more lift on your 2nd gen. You can test it out and report your results to us.

@IronPeak also...I've talked to people on IG who have the 6112s on the highest setting and they have no issues at all and they offroad they're vehicle pretty hard, but these were 3rd gens I talked too.

Mine is 3rd Gen 6112 with the base 610lb spring. I'm at the top setting and whomp my truck off-road and it handles great.... after the bumper goes on... not so sure I'm probably going to have to switch out the spring for a 650lb elbiach

Not looking for more lift per-say, don't want to have to compress the spring as much as it would be on the top clip.

You are over thinking this. use the stock spring at the highest circlip. Its fine. Going to a longer spring at the same rate will not change the amount of preload needed to get a certain lift height.

If you are adding a bunch of weight, then you need to either get a longer spring or a higher spring rate to get the same lift height as before.

This is my fear with getting the Bilstein's, not holding up to the harsh Midwest winters. So much road salt used. I rinse my truck off at least a day or to after the latest storm but the roads are white from salt well afterwards.
