Did you add a block to mimic the rest of your leaf pack?

 

Are you going side exit on the exhaust?

 

I measured the pack thickness and adjusted all my numbers after the fact

Finally new wheels and tires today

Curious on how the exhaust comes out the bedside

 

Here it is with the bed on. I have pictures in my build from when I did it somewhere towards the beginning. Eventually I'll make a sideways tear drop for it out of some aluminum.

No, I don't think so. I heard two 'noises' on Bens. The loud scraping is brake shoes dragging intermittently. Most likely due to worn out brakes and out of round drums. The other fainter noise is because there is no load on the rear diff and no load on the axles. I suspect you could reproduce his clicking noise by putting the rear axle up on jackstands and removing the wheels. Besides, your noise was absent at slow speeds.

 

This is how I did mine. If I was to do it again I would go slightly higher. Maybe so the bottom is at the pinch weld.

 

is there a way to get disc brakes on the rear without doing a complete overhaul on the brake system?

 

Not really since you need to add a different proportioning valve. And really unless you have lots of super heavy armor or tow a lot you really shouldn't need them. But FROR makes a kit for it, minus the proportioning valve part.

 

Seem like that would be a complete overhaul of the brake system and the axle. But anything’s possible with enough time, money, and determination.

Edit: why not just go with the Tundra big brake mod?

 

guess i'll just upgrade the drums. ugh i hate drum brakes
