Yep, just picked up a few more the other day. I have 3 new ones and 1 with half it's life left. I'm probably going to cut it sooner so I can take my scrap to Joe's and toss it in his metal bin.

Why not keep a panel and make it into garage art? It would make for an interesting conversation piece

How far down is it for brute force? They are all slightly different I think.

Because I don't have a garage :bananadead: I'm not sure what else I would do with it.

The diy @fatfurious2 posted up is very nicely written. The genius move of taping the metal ruler onto the bedside to use as a guide was worth the read

Could always cut lower, then make a second cut to dial it in and get the right height. Will be a pain but will look great.

Spend the $ on the ruler buddy. “Measure twice, Cut once” . This screams BUY A RULER!

I didnt. At the time, I had a softopper. So I had to make my cuts at 18" because of the rail that sat on the top of the bed rail.

I talked with Joe about that. What I'm going to do is just measure from the side of my cap on down, since I have the kind that wraps over the edge. Is yours like that? I can't remember.

Question. Did you aim for the middle of the tape like the write up?

It is. We can probably measure that lip and adjust accordingly.

@HCJ or we could go balls deep and remove our caps, and use that as an opportunity to clean reseal our bed rails.

I vote for the “balls deep” approach @EatSleepTacos has recommended
