As far as I know they are very different trucks.

Also it depends very much on how it is driven. If long stretches of country roads with few stops and speeds between 45 and 55 you could get amazing mileage, but if you are sitting in stop and go traffic four hours a day commuting your mileage may suck.

Well, is that with how many gallons used? In other words, what is a "tank" to you, low fuel light (~17 gallons); E line (~18 gallons); or a true tank empty of fuel (21 gallons)?

I got 34.69 MPG combined ( Canadian Imperial gallon which is US 4.5 quarts) on first tank with my 2015 2.7 with 5 speed manual 2 WD shifting around 2500 RPM. It has got only slightly better after breaking in and Fold-A-Cover on box did not make any difference but a lot less wind noise. I talked to another who has an older model (2012 I think) with same engine and trans and he claims to get excellent mileage as well. Glad I waited and ordered the manual. This truck gets better mileage than the Kia Sportage with 4 cylinder auto and front wheel drive only that I traded in.

Considering the OP made the initial post in 2008 and hasn't been here since 2010, and we have a bizillion other MPG threads, maybe we should let this one die a natural death.

    Instead of being zombie-fied :infantry:

Totally stock 2007 4x4 reg cab 4 cyl. I start looking for a gas station at around 400 miles, and end up filling 'er up at ~420 mi. Somewhat less in winter, when I'm in 4wd a lot.

Farthest I went was 420 miles.l before I decided to fill up. According to the pump I had approximately three and a half gallons left in the tank.

I don't really like doing that...usually I like to fill up at no less than 1/4 a tank for the sake of the fuel pump.

Average is about 400 miles per tank (filling up with 3-4 gallons left in the tank). MPG is about 24 summer, 20 winter (longer warmup/open loop in cold temps). Best tank I got was about 475 on a long road trip, 90% highway, all at full temperature, works out to ~28 MPG highway.

15.7mpg = 330 miles per tank (The tank holds 21.1 gallons).

If it helps, my Double cab 4x4, 4.0 V6, automatic, is getting 14-15 mpg when there is city and some highway combined. It is what it is, and that's with a clean air filter, all servicing performed, even after new plugs installed... City ranges 13-15, Highway 16-19 (but rarely over 18 and only a few times over 20). Truck has 112,700 miles on the odo and is a 2010 TRD Off Road.
