Wow, those are bad. Is that at a 30k change interval? These motors are known to not like iridium plugs. Save your money and buy regular plugs.

 

Got to take it to AutoZone this week before work and have them run a scanner on it, hopefully it’ll show the misfire and I can get the coils ordered, it has stock coils in them now, if I replace one I might as well replace all them right?.. I’ve ran the iridiums in my old 03 Dodge I had and it ran better, still sucked on gas mileage but it was a dodge. Going to clean the MAF sensor this week also, couldn’t get it last night started pouring rain right as I got the plugs changed out..

 

02s don't read heat, they read 02

 

Yes but there’s a heating element inside to warm them up for efficiency. My 2002 had a faulty sensor with the element going out.

 

Yes but the sensor circuit shorting into the heater circuit would set a code and the pcm would simply stop looking at the 02s for fuel correction.

 

So I went and had it scanned today and the only thing it was picking up was a code P0430 which is catalyst system below threshold... could that be the jerking or is it something else...

 

That usually is a bad cat on driver side. I had the same code a few weeks ago and replaced all 4 o2 sensors and light went off and fuel mileage has returned to normal. Worth doing instead of replacing a 1700$ cat

 

101050 miles on them puppies, and even though the ground electrodes are a bit worn, the gap was good (I re-gapped at 80K) and the engine was as responsive as when new. I perceived no performance difference when I drove with the new Denso Long Life Iridiums. However, based on that wear, I would not know go past 80K on regular NKG Iridiums. The Densos have a hardened ground electrode and should outlast the NGKs. I will keep a closer eye on the wear. You saying about saving money ...

I about crapped my pants when they told me 987.00 just for converter... I’ll deal with it for that price.
