Too bad, you missed the part where @Blackdawg won the lottery and gave us all a cut for being here when he posted. Except Ben of course because he apparently hates him. Right when he needed it to, so now he is on the verge of being homeless and has to sell his 3rd gen. It's hard for me to call Monte a jerk cause he kind of gave me a bunch of money, but it kind of was a dick move to do to a friend. Other than just the usual happenings.

Stupid gainful employment and trying to raise two respectable children once again keeps me away when all the good shit happens...does this mean @Blackdawg is buying me a GFC?

The thread search generates too much irrelevant B.S. to wade through

No..but I'm only a hour and a half from them and plan on going to go just look at them. Might be using my trucks to measure as I have a single cab, extended cab, and double cab 1st gen for them to measure and compare differences on.

As do all searches in BS threads haha

Bozeman is about a six hour drive this time of year for me, but I might have to go have a look—see, before I drop my deposit money. Do you know how many units they’re shipping during the beta test? I’d be happy to beat the shit out of one.

No one got one for beta. The owner took it to Baja for beta testing for 30 some days.

They are planning on shipping production models in mid March I think. I believe the promo for free shipping ends soon for the deposit. They will send out invoices to all the pre order folks first and from that pool whoever pays first gets put on the list first for production. Think they said they'd do 5 a week and won't start building till full payment is received.

I'm not getting one just been following the thread.

Hmmm, one unit for 30 days in the desert doesn’t really constitute product testing IMO. I’d feel better if I could see one in person, might justify the trip.

Well they are in Bozeman and have been messing with the prototype which got used by a few folks I think..not really sure..so it has plenty of mountain time I'm sure.

It's a cool platform. Not gonna be fore everyone though

Not really. I've always been intrigued by the Habitats, but they're too expensive. Finding a good quality used Flippac is not easy to do, and then you pay almost as much. The other thing I don't like about those designs is the fact you end up with like 14' of tent fabric to flap in the wind and cause you problems.

And between all of those the GFC is the lightest and has the fastest setup/takedown time.

I spent like 3 hrs reading the whole Iggy’s 1$ taco thread, I found their initial design really intriguing, but they seem to be dragging their feet and GFC seems to be ramping up for production so....I see you’re in the boat, I get down there a few times for work every fall, Alpenglows and dollar tapas are on me at Mahogany Ridge.

It’s a similar design, the tread is here on TW, but they are not getting it to market quick enough, I found it before I ever saw the Hondos Garage thread.

Always game for some beers at Mahogany! Certainly let me know when your down this way.

I've read a little bit on those Iggy setups, but a bit frustrating to watch him put off questions and not try to work with potential customers. Whereas the GFC guys are doing an amazing job at being responsive and helpful. Those guys seem like excellent businessmen, which is what a lot of these small fab guys are missing.
