Last I read Kurt was driving for dirt cheap just to be racing... I almost bet Custer will cost more with less results...

No way they get rid of KB. No offense he's 75%+ of the teams fanbase. They make too much money off of him. Denny has a 36 race sponsor and he wins several races a year as well... They are stuck with them 2. But if they had to pick one to go itd be Denny... But I just don't see either leaving. FRR better get some resourses to expand as Toyota has talent in the pipeline, and they have space for 2 cars (especially if Bell brings money)

1-4 in finishing order for the Fords today. Congrats to Kes and Penske. That yellow Menards car is bright as all get out! I already preordered the 1:24 die cast; a first for me. I haven’t bought a diecast in 2-3 years.

I'm not real excited for Daytona.... Looks like they didn't fix the plate package yet... Ready for Atlanta though...

Oh, the plate package is fixed just like they want it. The cars looked like crap. They remind me of some of the trucks I see around here with cheap lifts in the front and a squatty rear. Most of the paint schemes look like dystopian nightmares, which fits with the new Daytona persona. I felt like I was in blade runner when I was there last February. There were robot voices, floating advertisements, weird ambient lighting, contrasting with the massive grey concrete pillars. The upper level (for rich folks) was open with lots of natural lighting, massive glass doors, comfortable seating, much better food options. The best thing on the menu at lower level was a 2lb hotdog. The best thing at the top level was prime rib.

Back to the cars: I think most of them look like crap. The 22 scheme is getting long in the tooth. The white #2 is my favorite Miller scheme since Bobby Allison in 1988. The SHR Mobil 1 cars look like race cars, the 21 is always a classic, the 32, 34, 41 look good. Byron's Axalta scheme looks pretty cool. Reminds me of a scheme I did on Nascar05 on PS2. My favorite scheme this year is Newman's Bass Pro/Cabela's #31: [IMG]

Equals means 3-4-5 wide, exciting tv. Sure doesn’t pan out for good racing. I want to see the strongest cars run through the field and chase down the leader.

I wonder what the aero package will be like for non plate cars. The aero dependency of the plate cars reminds me of the cars before COT. I think they raced better and competition was better too. I think the cars drafted well but there were still opportunities to move up if a driver had the stones to possible hang himself out.

Yeah, the plate package is way to aero dependant.... When you can sidedraft everyone to wreck (looking at U stenhouse) then there is a problem... I understand the pack for plate racing, but good god single file is boring as hell...

I think it'll definitely make it more challenging. That's the idea right? Dangerous? Maybe but everyone has the same inherent risks so...:notsure:

A sidedraft should slow a guy, not be an easy way to wreck a guy

I've had it for 2 weeks. It needs help.
I thought it was boring af. Single file, side draft wrecks, no passing, and some drivers looked like dart without feathers.
