I was really curious what my pup was mixed with so I had one done. I chose to go through Wisdom Panel based off value of results and info to cost. Nice breakdown and goes back a few generations. He came back to be 75% Husky and 25% GSD with no health risks shown in the testing. Last night was the first time I've seen him go into full fluffy ball mode tucking his nose in to stay warm, it was around the mid 30's with a cold wind blowing after wheeling.

They are running a $10 discount on the Wisdom Panel site for valentines day, code LOVEDOGS2018 is on the website.

For $60 it was well worth it to fix my curiosity! Was easy to do with 2 quick cheek swabs, even with my pups razor sharp teeth at 10 wks old.

I wanted a Dutch until I found her! She's actually not that crazy, we got lucky. She has a really good off switch when needed. She can run for 30 minutes and be good

Awesome! I really want to do it since I have no clue what the dad was mixed with. Thanks!

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
We had one done on our "lab/pit" mix. It was comical, as she has no identified lab in her. She is identified as predominantly mastiff, and Staffordshire terrier although weighs 45lbs and looks like a Staffie, and sometimes a lab. A lot of mixes in the background too. DNA can be a funny thing, but at least we have an idea of what her lines are. And she is listed with the vet as a mastiff mix, instead of the dreaded pit mix  It was nice to have it done, but in retrospect, I wouldn't do it again. She's a good dog and I wouldn't trade her, so it doesn't matter what she is. :D

And an obligatory pic, she was helping me plow...

Great looking dog. I didnt care what the results were when I had it done on my pup, he had me hooked the day I adopted him and brings me joy everyday. I was just curious and it would have driven me crazy trying to figure out what other breed was influencing his looks. I actually guessed what he was correctly before I ever did the test. Now if I can just get him to stop eating inedible things that make him feel bad. He will eat anything that fits in his mouth or he can break down small enough to swallow. I'm hoping once he gets a little older he will get over it and stop eating everything.

Dealing with that right now. My last lab shredded each and every stick in his path, but always made a pile. This one swallows the sticks. They usually come up at 3 am ruining the rest of the nights sleep. I really hope this phase is short lived. He also will eat dirt. The other day, he crapped a sand castle.

Mines pooped out almost nothing but rocks once. The worst was an entire sock(still whole) after he broke out of his crate when he was home alone. Like yours sticks and dirt are almost standard diet for my pup.

Anybody here not happy with VCA Animal Hospitals? Been trying to get hold of the vet who saw Riley a couple weeks ago. Apparently, we saw the relief vet. Who knew? Anyway, his regular vet left but no one bothered to say anything about that either. So when I finally did get a call back it was from a third to say she wouldn’t be there tomorrow but i could talk to a fourth.

The quality of care is good, just hard to get anyone to call back and when they do, it’s just another reading of the “treatment plan”...

Thinking about looking around but everywhere I look, it’s a VCA hospital.
