What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

It's a early 90s hilux. Looks sweet

 

I'm 5-11. size 32 waste and wide shoulders. Wear a medium-large shirt. Seats hug me at the shoulders, but comfortably. They're not as low as I had thought, so I have plenty of support for the back of my head as well. That was a complaint about them from others, but I don't seem to have that issue. I just rode in them around town today after installing. I'll probably have a better review of them when I take them for a drive on the highway next weekend when I go mountain biking.

 

Yeah I'm worried they'll pinch my shoulders. Might have to just junk yard some seats

It is possible. You may want to go with the corbeau baja RS instead of the XRS seats. They're a few inches shorter so will probably clear your shoulders.

LOL Oh, yeah it's nice. Just never available here, I believe. Mostly used by the Taliban! Would have bought one when I got my '92, if they were available!

 

But I would have chalked yours up to a caliper issue as well... not a problem with the banjo.

 

Okay got the truck now and was able to drive it off the trailer and now it doesn't start. 13 volts on power leads into battery from a running car and nothing works. Clutched pushed in and it's in neutral. Tried with first and same thing.

The headlights work and the horn works. Nothing on the dash responds. No lights no crank no life when turning the key. Tail lights don't work with headlights on. Four way flashers work.

Any ideas?

 

clutch pedal switch? clutch cancel relay? push start the truck down a cliff?

I'm not really in the position to push start - it's on my driveway and I'd have no way of turning it back on if the push start doesn't work.

How do I check the clutch switch and the clutch cancel relay?

 

What's interesting is none of the interior works. When we started it at the owner's house you could hear the chime sounding with a running car jumping the battery. Now there's no chime and no response from anything inside (overhead lights radio, etc) or any response when turning the key. The horn works and the headlights work, but not the tail lights.

 

There's a switch on the clutch pedal that needs to be pressed in, maybe that lil rubber/plastic stopper finally cracked.

Yea, everything good is pricey, you can find a distributor and go test drive a chair.
Theres no comparison with these seats compared to a 4 runner seat or a Tacoma seat. Wish I had done this upgrade years ago, I went and tested the seats first for me

 

Dead battery. Has no charge I bet
