So, I saw a used set of these for sale in the 2nd Gen marketplace in 'good' condition and they were more pitted than a peach on a hot summers day in Georgia...

Before I subject my new kit to the wonderful arctic winters we have here in North Dakota I was wondering how I might go about applying fluid film to the shock bodies and coils appropriately? Pray and spray or use a cloth to apply. Trivial, I know.

If someone is looking for a new cheap Icon AAL set @WrecK is selling his on the Oregon/Washington craigslist forum for $180. If you're looking to keep some rake, cheap way to do it. Seattle area,

Toyota said they tested them in the Colorado Desert and modified the valving. I had them on my 2013 Baja.

The gain on the front was about two inches. 2018 OR still has the same/similar rake as the previous 3rd gen years. The original description on these from the toyota sites says it would provide 2.5 inch in the front but I netted 2. As for comparison, like I said, drove it 70 miles yesterday and took it to my usual drive home where there is a bump that I usually take on about at 20mph and it felt nicer as in it soaked it up a lot better and the rear didn't feel as bouncy as before. That was with a half tank of gas though so we'll see how with a full one when I fill up this week. I can't really do a comparison on how they perform when loaded since I don't really haul anything on the daily. I will be loading it up with about 200 pounds at the end of the month and hitting the desert out in Nevada for some range time so that will be the true comparison since I did that when I first got the truck about 4 weeks ago.

    Thats good to hear!

I think i'll be good with this lift if it can eliminate any rubbing with that tire setup.

Just going off of this description. I don't know what it is for 2nd gen to be honest.

That 2.5 inch is the size of the shocks, but other 3rd gen guys have gotten around 2 inches of lift on the front from this setup

Like I said, I netted 2 inches compared to my stock. That is why I currently sit an inch higher in the front versus the rear.

Pretty sure that's diameter. Not lift height. These won't lift the rear at all. Also pretty sure that's not official Toyota ad copy.
