100% agree that the M/S are way too boring looking. You should at least glance at the Michelin AT2s. They look aggressive enough to not feel like a granny car, but are mild enough to not sacrifice on road performance. I am a big fan of mine. (although I was sold on the Nitto Terra Grapplers until I learned that they dont make them to fit a 16" rim. Still salty about that.)

Oregon here too. I'm sold on Duratracs. Pretty good off road, excellent snow performance, quiet and tame on road and negligible hit on fuel economy. Negatives are the sidewalls are a bit thin. If you're a hardcore wheeler then you run the risk of shredding your sidewall, but that compliant sidewall gives you a great ride when you air down and on road comfort.

They may be expensive, but they’re the only tire that no one has anything bad to say about. You can always find somebody who had a bad experience with a tire. The tires wouldn’t balance, thought they were loud, didn’t think the traction was good, etc. I’ve never seen anybody with something bad to say about the Michelins performance. That speaks volumes in my opinion.

I got over 100,000 miles each on my last 3 sets of Michelin LTX M/S...well my last set I sold my truck they were on but they had 50,000 miles on them and half the tread left.

I can't afford to buy anything else.

General grabber at2 or wrangler duratracs. Grabbers are great for economy and look good. Good grip in all conditions and quiet.
Duratracs are heavy, last forever and have worse mileage. Doesn't matter to me because I drive a tacoma haha

No noticeable change in noise for me...I had looked at a couple more aggressive tires and the tire shop manager who is related to a close friend of mine told me those would be too loud and I would be much happier with Nittos. As for MPG not sure I never seem to get good MPG in the city...although I did a road trip to the mountains I got 21mpg which is the best I’ve seen since purchasing the truck last month.
