Good to know. Not much oem on this rig left, but what is will help. The Toyota dealer near me is crazy expensive. You’d swear you own a bmw.

Actually there is news. I went from hover truck back to all 4s.

New rack, new hiems, new bushings....but I put the lower arm on the driver side wrong. How I'd do that? Good question. Few spacers got switched up during install. Stupid 5 lug trucks, lol. Pulling mad caster when I tried to align it. So gotta break the driver side back down next weekend. That spacer is pushing my front wheel an inch forward. Drove like crap.

Ratchet strap to pull the arm to get some spacers on both sides of the hiem. At least the rear joint is poly instead of delrin.

Spacer in the correct spot and back on all 4s again. Lets go play with alignment for a few hours.

Lol, those are the vent lines from the valve cover. Really should do a catch can to minimize the mess.

Going to drive it! Want to go to the desert a few times. Probably a few small things like play with my tune

This is so true. After stripping my cab I realize I’m going to have to pace myself. One step at a time. Sometimes I wish I had another DD so I could down the truck to work on it. I’m just going to have to make smart choices on how to build this.

Ouch that sounds a bit rough. The dash section is the hard part. You could get away with driving it while trying to cage it. Seen a few people do it. You might want to look into a 2k beater car down the road. I didnt have any help on my cage. Having another person with fab experience would of been helpful.

You daily your truck still? Well I drove without a dash for a while but it is really weird haha, gauges don't really have anything to mount to and you need them there.

When you have a caged truck it won't take long until you want bone stock DD. I think the cluster screws to the metal bar under the dash. Totally drivable without the dash. You just won't have radio, AC. Just keep the grounds to the frame so you don't freak out the ECU.

Yeah. This will always be my DD. My wife and I have talked about it. The choice when I lost the motor was either fix the taco to how I wanted it or buy a new one. Since I invested into the 3.4 and 4x4 conversion I'm kind of obligated in keeping it a DD for a while. Maybe pick up a toy hauler later down the road but for now it's my DD.

It's really odd driving without a dash for sure. Kind of nevious really hearing all the noises. I just need to get used to it.

I can't invest in a DD anytime soon so I will just make it work. I was able to get the cluster mounted but the dash had to be sacrificed. I ended up cutting it around where the cluster mounts to and bolting it to the bar you mentioned. It's all good though. I cut it where I'll be able to super glue it back together and reconnect it to the dash with screws. I like how you incorperated the crush bar into the cage. I will do the same but with a bolt on plate from the bar to the cage. Still working out the details in my head. I was also able to keep the radio and AC controls connected. Duck tape is awesome :cookiemonster: But thanks for all the help bud!
