Not true! I power my 650 watt Mr Coffee all the time. I dont even have to crank the engine, it just works and works well.

Very interesting. Based on the power rating, I wouldn’t have thought it possible.

Based on the numbers, you're right. But it works. :)

Christmas lights...not much else. I use a lot of rechargeable eneloop batteries for gear so I think it would be useful for charging those on extended trips.

A small (13in) fan, Christmas lights, and drill charger, all worked well, one at a time of course.

I've only used to to inflate an air mattress while camping, worked great though.

I’ve used it to play an electric guitar with a small amp that was 10 watts.

I have used a Black and Decker Air Station that is a least 15 years old with mine on several occasions to inflate my tires when they show low air pressure. Most recent after deflating them to 23 lbs to wheel around Windrock I used it to inflate them back to 34 lbs for the ride home. The sticker on it says 3.3 amp and I have not had any issues. Took about 3-5 minutes to inflate each tire. It lives in the cubby behind the back seat.

This is with the truck running.

Interesting stuff. All that said, what fuse should I carry extra of if/when I blow a fuse using this little outlet? I'll take a trip by the auto parts store before I go camping.

Perhaps this should become a thread of things people have tried and have had them work? ha

80 amp I think looking at schematic, but in my experience overloading it just requires cycling the power button. (It has an electronic circuit breaker interal)

During a recent winter storm in my area, we lost power for about 10 hrs. I was able to back feed 120V into my house and power my heating system's burner (2.5A constant, start current unknown), circ pump (draw unknown), 2 zone valves and the T-stat transformer. Worked like a charm, was able to warm the house up a couple of times using the Taco's inverter.

Don't hate, I know it's not an accepted practice in electrical circles to back-feed. I am smart enough to isolate my house from the mains before doing this.

Anyway, that's my little story :)
