Sway Bar Links

It allows your front suspension to be more independent from side to side. look up what a sway bar does and then imagine it being removed.

 

The sway bar isn't 100% disconnected so you don't have to worry about moving it out of the way. This disco is a sliding style rather than a traditional disco.

I would need a relocation kit with my new coilovers so I think I'm good just going to keep it off.

 

So with a set of these I no shit would have a quick disconnect sway bar and It wouldn't Jack up my CV?

 

First off, this looks awesome. I'm super interested. I have a quick question. When you say:

What do you mean they will perform very close to disco's? You'll gain more flex over stock because they are shorter and hold tighter to the spindle than the whimpy, stock one?

I ask because if the travel benefit of standards vs disco is minimal, I may just grab the standards.

I've never had any solid proof that one is better than the other. I've been running my own non-disco links for about 4 years now, and wouldn't consider disco's on my own rig. I don't have enough proof that they're better than my non-disco links, and I'm lazy as f*ck. I haven't been in a situation as of yet where I thought I'd be better off with disco's, and don't think I will.

A lot of people "think" they need disco's to be able to gain more flex, and this really isn't the case. If you think about how a stock Tacoma performs, it performs very well for what it is. Now, it performs very well for "stock", but we all want something that performs better than stock. When lifting a stock Tacoma we all think about things that need to be change. You add coil overs, UCA's, LCA's, better leaf springs, shocks, and longer break lines. What about the sway bar links? This is the most commonly overlooked suspension component because most don't think they matter.

The position of a sway bar from the factory is in the position for a reason, because it works. Getting your sway back to that position will give what most people are looking for.

 

@mstudt Are you continually making these or do you just offer them from time to time? I would like a set of extended length for my 98, but I need to wait until I get a few other projects finished up first.

Are your extended sway bar links compatible with the sway bar spacers included in some coilover kits? I have an icon ext coilovers and it came with a spacer that goes in between the sway bar bushings mounts (pivot point) and frame.

 

Are you referring to the relocation kit? If so than that won't effect the fitment of the links themselves. That's installed when running larger coilovers so your sway bar won't contact the coils. But yes, my links will work just fine with the relocation kit.
