Does this tune void the warranty?

Also anyone else seeing black on their exhaust tip? Don't tell me I'm burning oil with 9k on my truck?

If they find out it could void quite a few things. That being said, OV has said it is not tracable by any device the dealer uses to read the ECU. So you are safe. If they do mention anything about your ECU(for some bizzar reason),tell them you unplugged your battery to reset your radio.

this is true, but it's also true you won't be confident unless you read it for yourself.

IME, Black buildup on the exhaust is typically carbon. Does it wipe off like soot, or is it oily?

If 1.03 fixes the problems I’ve been having, I’m in for the downpipe and exhaust. Otherwise the Taco goes bye bye this year.

My stock tune didn’t clunk and shift rough. But it was a total pig and the factory tune was horrible.

1.02 has smoothed out the powerband and you can defiantly tell a difference. But now it clunks and shifts rough along with the relearn of old habits. I notice it most in downshifting and when coming to a stop. The clunking is eating away at my OCD. I’ve literally stored the truck in the garage because I can’t stand driving it. I’m eagerly awaiting 1.03 so I can enjoy my truck again.
If 1.03 wasn’t coming I would have traded my truck in by now.

would you like to test 1.03 and see if the clunking persists? it won't have the final ignition on it yet, but that doesn't affect shifting.

I would absolutely love to test 1.03 and see if it takes care of my problem. I’d of course be happy to provide my feedback as well.

Carbon build-up on the exhaust tips is very common, especially with Direct Injected engines such as the 3.5. I wouldn't worry about it unless you're seeing blue smoke out the exhaust.

If anyone could save my truck it’s defiantly gonna be OVTune. It’s a shame Toyota is to clueless to do anything.

It drives me insane. I’ve literally parked the truck in my garage for the last 2 months only starting and driving it around the block once a week.

I feel ya. The tune is totally worth the clunking (that I believe will be taken care of by 1.03). I've learned to expect it coming on. Feathering the pedal and a smooth increase in pressure helps a lot with reducing the clunking.
