Truck must have air brakes over hydraulic. Either way good luck whatever you decide. California definitely not a trucker friendly state

Plus you have your own set of "Emission Laws" no thank you...

 

This truck doesn't have all the Emissions garbage on it which makes it more attractive. Was also looking at a used Penske for $26k with the Maxxforce DT and wasn't sure about it. With this truck I have no doubts.

I know out here on the east coast NJ and going into NYC those little straight trucks are pulled over constantly. Not a single one will get waved though dot check point, suspected of running drugs. Makes it hard on the people that are using them for their company

 

You should be able to get an instant quote from Progressive online. I am a trucking insurance broker, but unfortunately I can only do fleets of 5 or more since the carriers I work with have minimum premiums. I usually refer owner operators there.

Hope you can do most of your own repairs and maintenance, otherwise your profits will take a hit. Maybe you could get into running expedited freight

It's still gonna shift better than a third gen, regardless of it being a manual or slushbox.

 

This truck has a Spicer 7 speed manual which includes OD and a granny low gear. Awesome tranny.

 

No in California. You can run air brakes on a vehicle under 26,005 lbs without cdl . But you better know your weight and how to load or your gonna hate life. I run air brakes on my work truck and still have a class c

 

Nope it's straight air on that truck. Used to drive a wrecker with same specs. Miss that truck..
