New Features on Tacoma World

IIjustjturned offoyhr autocorrect on my keyboard(swiftkey). No change. TwTisitheTonlyTwebsite or appathattdoes this.

ii have that problem on gboard like crazy..

 

not sure but it bounces me back and forth between comical and insane autocorrection constantly. it does appear specific to this site, but i haven't really investigated that.

 

I have the same problem typing from my phone with the above combination with the exception that I the non-XL pixel 2. Only when trying to post on tacomaworld does this happen. On no other website do I have this issue. This started happening recently, but I honestly don't know if it was when I got my new phone 2 weeks ago or afterwards.

ETA: I'm not trying to pile on... just providing another data point.

 

Try a different keyboard

I mentioned earlier I had this issue with Ultra Keyboard. Started when the new TW came about. UK seemed to no longer be developed, so eventually I had to seek alternatives. I primarily use the tracing feature to type. I had varying experience with how well it worked with different keyboards with different apps. I ended up choosing Swype. Works well with TW in Chrome and Dolphin Browser.

 

my frustration with this has gotten to a point that i'm avoiding posting from my phone. i guess i'll setup an alt keyboard. i have aosp but never liked it, so i'll go back to swype for a while. all my problems are on gboard.

 

For some reason my Inbox is showing an alert for a PM

But, I've checked them all and none are unread.

 

@tcBob would be a neat shortcut if the apple emojis would show

 

I'd like to see where you could post polls within a post; instead of always having to add a new thread to have a new poll.

 

how would thread subscribers or readers know it's there if it could be buried? unless there's something i'm missing a new thread is the way for a new poll. just because of how active it gets and things get missed or lost constantly.

 

I see where or why you would ask this question. If you are asking yes or no questions or simple single pass opinions relitive to the that stage of the conversation is when I could see it practical in an on-going conversation. Like tire size, people constantly looking over similar threads but if there was one thread for 295-75R17 then someone two years down the road could start a poll about people who are still satisfied with their tire after X-number of months or XX,000 miles. OR would you recommend this tire size to another person?

IDK I feel like most of the poll threads get lost without much data because they are too specific to continue conversations around a single topic, 'in-Thread single post polls' could help quantify opinions flying around in continual conversations.

 

I have this problem as well. IMO, it's TW auto saving the post, and the keyboard can't deal with it for some reason.

Can we have a setting to disable the auto save draft feature?

 

this is just driving me nuts! it took 5 passes correcting the autocorrect to write that first sentence.... no joke I'm being serious.

if you turn off rich text features it will stop doing this, and it takes away some of the main usability features of the site. this is TW specific unfortunately.
