I had a '66 Charger I bought in 1990 for $2000. Same 383-4 with auto burgundy red. It wasn't pretty, the paint was faded bad and there was some hail damage but not much rust. It drove nice but instead of just driving it as it was until I was ready to really start working on it, I started disassembly and stripped it apart and ended up selling it for a lose because of that, sold it for $1000 in 1997. I don't know where it ended up, I sold it to B Body Bob and hope he sold it whole to someone.

I've been going to various shows and events for years, and to date this has got to be one of my favorite finds!

This is a 1984 Chevrolet C30 crew cab dually that I saw at the 2017 Super Chevy Show (Maple Grove Raceway), which has a show and all-day drag races. This truck was in the pit area, which is open to spectators, where the racing teams park their trucks and trailers. When I initially saw it, the hood was open, and I had to do a double-take...

This truck has a 6.6L Duramax diesel V8 and Allison automatic transmission (originally a 454cid 4-barrel and 3-speed auto)! The owner showed up and I got some history on the truck. He told me what engine the truck originally had, and explained that he'd gotten the diesel powertrain from a wrecked '08 Silverado. This was a fully loaded Silverado from the factory, so it had originally had A/C and power everything. When the owner did the engine swap, he ripped out the factory A/C system and installed a vehicle-specific Vintage Air system with a modern Sanden-style compressor. This truck has all of the modern goodies you'd expect, including a killer stereo, and it apparently cost just $12K to build (the owner did almost all of the work himself)!

If you can't buy a better truck, then build a better truck!

    Another point for redneck ingenuity!

I'm all WTF?!, but I'm also all whoa! I would drive it just to see the looks I got. Reminds me of that Johnny Cash song - one piece at a time I think?
