If I remember right, NSAID pain relievers can hurt the effect of beta blockers. I think Tylenol is ok. I'm not sure if your medication is a beta blocker or not, but that's usually what they prescribe for hbp. I wouldn't take my word on any of this, but if I were you, I'd do more research before mixing any medications.

About 2/3 of the way down, there is a list of drug interactions. It looks like Ace inhibitors can be affected by NSAIDs for hbp.

Sorry. That's what happens when an auto parts salesman tries to dish out medical advise. :D

Will you are taking a beta blocker. Ask your dr. Before taking NSAID pain relievers like advil.

First off, you're taking an ACE-Inhibitor, not a beta blocker.

Second, both NSAIDs (motrin/advil/ibuprofen, naprosyn/naproxyn, etc) and ACE-I's affect the kidneys. can you take them together? Uh... well it's your mouth. But you're setting yourself up to damage your kidneys. I can't say it will happen. But, I'd strongly encourage you to take tylenol instead, unless you're allergic to it.

Professionally, I won't mix the two unless I have to. But, this is a question best answered by your doctor, not the internet.

I don't recommend anybody take tylenol! It's killed two of my immediate family members. It does screw up your liver bad! And if you drink it multiply's that liver damage.

Ok it is an ACE inhibitor, looks like advil will have a negative effect on your medicine and so will beer! EEK! Better drink lots of water? So as to avoid kidney damage? But I'm no expert so call yo Dr.!

I'm at work right now. I work in an ER and I just checked my blood pressure cause I felt a little lightheaded only to find that I'm a little hypertensive. It sux. I don't wanna stop drinking or smoking, but I have to do something. I'm to young, (24) to start taking BP meds. I'm gonna try to start exercising and maybe try to cut back on the drinking since I only smoke when I drink.

Good luck with your BP tacoman and as far as your lisinoprol, it's an ACE inhibitor and your better of taking it with acetaminophen, Tylenol, instead of advil.

My mom took Tylenol for years for artheritis. She thought it was safe so when she was in pain she would just pop two Tylenol. Well it caused her to have liver failure and she passed away:( since then I only take advil! But only if I really need it bad!

Wooo, damn, 170 over 130 at 30? WTF you doin? I'm 49 have bad eating habits, have a cigar on occassion, too many cokes, etc etc etc. My shit is nowhere near that. I'm prescribing mucho mt biking or something, take care of yourself. Your heartrate is about where mine is when I push to limits when mt biking....100 degrees in summer, 185 on the hr monitor and I'm about to fall out without resting a bit. You gotta crank up the furnace and keep all the bad shit burnt up so it doesn't lay around and build up into badness. Drink lots and lots of water to help keep shit flushed out too. Sorry, not medically licensed so I'll FO now wishing you the best with it.

Oh yeah, lay off the table salt. That is one change I have made that is medically recommended and approved. Like trying to quit smoking but it's been over 3 weeks so new habit formed. Rarely reach for it or add it during cooking anymore.

Will, I'd say call the doc or a pharmacist and see what they say  They're the ones with the knowledge that most of us don't have. They'll be able to say what is ok or not ok to take with your meds.

Good luck finding something that works.
