No way, how'd I miss that in your build??? So is it a tilt or a full sliding one? Dealer installed or aftermarket?
If I was in CA I'd do it in a heartbeat. It's just hard to justify here in UT with all of our 2 weeks / year of windows-down weather.

Anytime its 65 out or more I tend to crack it open. It has three settings, moonroof, fully open, and close. Yea man the only reference I got on it is just in the build list. It is an aftermarket one, but the installer is the guy who installs for the dealer so he has been doing it for like 35 years. From what I have read, they don't really leak anymore as technology has caught up with the times. I would say folks who have issues likely had their stuff installed closer to the 00s timeframe. Coming from a 4runner, this was a long time coming for me.

Yes rolled tone holes, metal resonators over crap pads. Still owe you a photo of it...

That's gotta be one of the last RTH models. Very cool, can't wait to see it.

Here's my current project, another early King Super 20 alto. I had to find a set of ignition wrenches (not at your local auto parts store anymore) for the 3/16" locking nuts on the pivot screws.

Here she is. She's got her blemishes but she's 71. S/N 324973 from 1947. One of the last with RTH indeed.

That’s looking GOOD for original lacquer! Get some new pads in there and she’ll be singing with the best of them. I love that wide-open Conn sound.

Yeah. The pads are rough. She needs some work. Back about 10 years ago, I was in contact with a music shop in the Seattle area that specialized in overhauling vintage horns. I lived in NY at the time and it was too much for me to afford.

Now I live in Seattle and have the funds to do it, I can't find the shop or it's since closed its doors.

There are a few good techs up there. Do you remember what the shop was called? Maybe the tech is still around at a different store.

@FooBird I’ve seen work from Carlo Cennamo and Scott Granlund, they’re both top notch sax techs. Brad Wherry also has a great reputation though I don’t have experience with him.

Here’s my wheels and my steps. They are “Body Armor side steps”. Not quite sliders. They are bolt on. But they hug high and tight, which is what I wanted. No low hanging fruit. Haha.
I wouldn’t trust them as sliders, but they sure as hell have saved me a few times off road.

Thanks, I really like the rings. Almost blackout with a touch of contrast.

How do you like the Duratracs?

Thanks Ryan! Yep, that's exactly what I was going for with the wheels. Not quite blacked out. The previous owner had them powdercoated red, and it was a little too loud for me.
LOVE my Duratracs. I had them on my '09 TRD Sport and fell in love. Now they are on my truck and my wife's 4R. Rugged, but quiet on the highway.
