What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

The hose came with the airaid kit but I suppose you could buy new hoses from autozone.

I don't know the answer to that one. But you should track that wire down and see where it goes, maybe the alternator, hopefully lol

 

Oh that would be great. If it's a v6 you think you could see where the hell that cut wire is supposed to go to?

 

Ah ok, kinda figured as much. Do you know if that 1/4" written on the side of the hose is the correct size?

You can also check your truck to see where the wires go, still might have similar battery and alt wiring.

That 80A fuse is some specific Japanese slow blow one. Gonna be hard finding one.

Looks like the alt sense wire possibly. Like it should go straight to the alt. Is the alt even hooked up?

 

I think it is? I bought it dead and the guy jumped it for me and we drove it around a little. We even managed to drive it off the trailer so I would assum the alt works.

 

@BartMaster1234 I think you have to pull that hole fuse panel out to replace those fuses. Pretty sure they attach up through the bottom. I’m trying to remember what we had to do to fix the one on my neighbors truck.

 

Son of a bitch. Well first I have to find out what caused it to short because I sure as hell don't want to pull the whole fuse box again.

 

Hooking a battery up the wrong way is what did it to the neighbors, also blew the main ECU in the glove box

Quick question, I did some research just now about mid travel and was wondering if it would be a better choice for mild trails and fire roads than an OME setup. I don't really plan on going fast but with the OME you would have less down travel which makes for a crappy ride, and with the mid travel you still get the 3 in lift but still get some down travel less than original specs but more than the OME lift if I am correct? Do people use mid travels for trails or in a similar way to prerunning?

Mid travel is a bit of a vague term..

I'm going to assume you mean a name brand coilover and aftermarket uca's.

In that case yes it will ride better. Better shocks.

That said. I strongly suggest not to do 3" lift ever. You'll loose down travel if your ride height is that tall and it's hard on cv boots and other joints. 2" is ideal.

I don't think going with a nice coil over for forest service roads is overkill at all. Well worth it.

 

i agree just get some king extended travels and camburg uca's and your got a nice front suspension. but if money is tight go with light racing uca's
