Ha! You can thank me later... this must have been the truck that I put a deposit on. But backed out recently cause the wifey thought an AT would be better for us long term. Thats the exact same price they gave me too. Congrats!
p.s. careful in finance. They dont sound very nice, and I bet they get real aggresive trying to sell you extras. Dont back down.

    Short answer: No.

Longer answer: The odds are obviously not in your favor that you'll get your money's worth out of the warranty. However, if you don't have any savings and can't afford a moderate to major repair, it might be a good idea to look at the warranty for the piece of mind that you'll have no surprise expenses during the life of the plan.
Considering Tacomas tend to last forever, the chances of you having a major repair, let alone one that is covered by the extended warranty plan and occurs during the plan's active life, is rather slim.

FWIW: I spent a couple years designing and pricing extended OEM warranties for durable goods.

Thanks. That's kinda what I figured. We've got enough savings to cover ourselves, so I'm just gonna pass on the warranty when it comes up.

Little frustrated today. Ordered a TRD Pro back at the beginning of December with no add ons. Was informed yesterday that build has been completed and the dealership expects delivery mid month (Feb). Since I am paying full price for this vehicle and cannot use the military incentive, nor the special Toyota financing (0.0% or 1.9%) I inquired to see if I could get some basics thrown in (Mud Guards, Door Sill protector, Bed mat). Was informed this wasn't possible, but dealership would give me at cost. I did not agree to any of this, but received what appeared to be the window sticker, that include these options as add ons as well as all-season floor mats and chrome (really) tube steps. This added almost $1200 to the original price. Informed dealer that they are either adding all this at no additional cost or it is to be removed. Waiting on reply...:mad::mad:

What is frustrating is that I am deployed overseas and think that they are trying to get one by me.

Lot of what you said really doesn't sound right. If you ordered a TRD Pro and given them a deposit, they should have given you a v-spec/build sheet with the VIN of the truck, all options, and price. You can then verify the build and remove or add any options. The mud guard, door sills, bed mat, ect are all port installed options, not factory installed options. As long as your truck has not left port, you can have these options removed and they will print out a new window sticker accordingly.

I would call the dealer and ask them to go into Dealer Daily and look at the Piepline tracking to see if your truck was delivered to port yet. If not then tell them to remove the options. Also, tell them (don't ask) to send you the build sheet. It you put a deposit for this truck it is yours to build with the options you want.

As for not being able to use the military incentive, because you are paying full price, sounds fishy to me. The incentive is paid for by Toyota, so they get there money either way. I'm thinking they are adding the military incentive to your purchase price, then taking the incentive for them self. Call the 800 Toyota customer service number in front of finance guy when you purchase your truck and put it on speaker phone, and see what the finance guy has to say.

For what it is worth this may help some people purchasing new vehicles, especially those in the military or have direct relation to them so they can get USAA. When I purchased my 2017 TRD OR, I used the USAA car buying service (I believe they use True Car with some extra weight behind them or something). Anyway, through their car buying service I purchased my truck (Blazing Blue DCSB TRD OR 4x4 with premium tech package, Predator steps, and chrome rear bumper/tip) for $33K the sticker on my truck was $38.5K. I had several offers for the Sand version for 31K.

Got a 2018 Off Road Base with manual transmission. The MSRP $35455 and I was able to negotiate $32,875 + 700 in dealer fees.

That does not include sales tax and tags. Out the door was about $34,700

    Hope that helps.

Considering I got my for 33K before the '18s were out. I would say they will take it. But, dealerships are weird so who really knows.

This is one long thread but I will drop my .02 cents on my purchase / order process. I completed a build on Toyota’s website, 2018 TRD OR DCSB with tech, premium, tonneau cover, manual trans. #7545. The power tailgate is not available at dealers outside Gulf States Toyota in my area. I reached out to ten dealers across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Missouri. Of the ten only seven would give me a price via email or text. I was upfront with the salesman that I was requesting bids from multiple dealers and that whoever had the lowest bid initially would be afforded the opportunity to outbid and subsequent lower bids.

***Edit - please note these prices do not include TTT. ***

    First Round Bids:
    $38,919 Bob Howard OKC OK
    $42,535 Toyota of Ardmore OK
    $36,975 Hudiburg OKC OK
    $37,888 Quality Toyota Independence KS
    $36,988 Northcutt Toyota Enid OK
    $39,048 Fletcher Toyota Joplin MO
    $37,518 Janzen Toyota Stillwater OK

After first Round Bids I reached out to the six dealers higher than Hudiburg letting them know $36,975 was the price to beat.

    Second Round Bids:
$38,919 Bob Howard OKC OK (refused to give second bid)
$42,535 Toyota of Ardmore OK (refused to give second bid)
$36,975 Hudiburg OKC OK (refused to come down after price was beat)
$37,888 Quality Toyota Independence KS (reduced down to $36,096)
$36,988 Northcutt Toyota Enid OK (refused to give second bid)
$39,048 Fletcher Toyota Joplin MO (reduced down to $36,001)
$37,518 Janzen Toyota Stillwater OK (reduced down to $36,768)

So I contact the salesman at Fletcher to let him know he was the lowest bid. Here is the problem. The salesman at Fletcher says he can not guarantee the price of $36,001 when the actual truck is delivered to his dealership. This gives me a bad feeling. I call The salesman at Quality Toyota and he says that the price we agreed of $36,096 is the final out the door price period. So I drive up to Independence KS and put a $1,000 deposit down. We sign a build sheet that I sent prior with the agreed price of $36,096. This final price includes the dealer dock fee of $199.

I ordered my Tacoma on Jan 22nd 2018. Still waiting on an expected delivery date. Salesman has been very responsive and says he expects to have a better ETA in a few weeks.

Just picked up a 2018 TRD Off Road 4x4 DCSB 6MT in Cement a few weeks ago. After many emails trying to find a M/T TRD Off Road, one dealer emailed me about this truck that just arrived on the lot.

    MSRP: $38,435.00
    Price before TTL: $36,935.00
    OTD: A hair over $41k
I live in Southern Kalifornia (Los Angeles County):bananadead:

Here's the spec sheet that I was emailed:

I looked into the incentive issues, and found on the Toyota Website that the TRD is excluded from promotional offers. What's even more frustrating is the fact that you cannot even take part in Toyota's Special Financing. When I placed the order I did get a build sheet that quoted the price at 43,520, not including TTL. Just received a new document that included the extras at for a price of 45,527. Non of which I authorized. I have sent them an email instructing them this is to be removed or I will look elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I am no familiar with what can and cannot be done at port, but I have the email traffic in which I informed my salesman I wanted the vehicle stock and they agreed. Not trying to be pain, but I exect the vehicle to be as I ordered it without these additions. Will update on outcome.

Such a stark contrast in pricing! I'm here in Hawaii where there are several Toyota dealerships on island all owned by a company called Servco so there is zero negotiating. I just got offered a "deal" on the remaining 2017 stock; DCLB TRDOR 4x4 in Quicksand for 36.5k out the door. That's for the TRDOR base model with just tow package, no tech/JBL, etc.

Got a 2018 TRD Off Road 4x4 Auto. Options were $300 floor mats, $69 for some cell phone cables and adapter, tint, hood protector, and nitrogen in the tires. All the options were obviously over priced junk, but I expect that. Sticker was $38580, end up at $34,100 plus taxes and tags with no trade.

You are getting killed on the 'optional' equipment. Most of that I would think you could remove. Also, they have not removed any money off the MSRP. I had an offer via email from a dealership for the exact same truck (different color) without any of that option equipment, out the door for $34,694.97. I decided to go with a different dealership, but that price is out the door. Taxes, tags, and fees (In NC).

Yeah the accessories definitely added a lot to the price. But in all honesty, I would have added most of those if I would have ordered one (except the exhaust tip, air filter, and door edge guards). I figured I'd be paying MSRP for this truck as most dealerships here would barely go under MSRP. Considering I only wanted a manual transmission, it was the color and model I wanted, and it was on the lot, I didn't mind paying.

It would have been nice to see that price that you got, but sadly no dealership around here came even close to that OTD. It doesn't help that the sales tax where I live is 9%, so that's was an extra $3300 or so. I need to move.
