Now I'm dreaming if I actually fried my ECU im abandoning this engine and putting in the 2JZ twin turbocharged Supra engine. Toyota stop selling them in the US in 1998 and this truck is a 1998 so if I had a donor car I could swap in all the emissions equipment and make it CA legal. Requirements for engine swap are it has to be the same year or newer and you can't mix truck engines with car engines (can't put a Silverado 5.7l LS into a Honda Civic) in the loosest emissions ruling terms as possible.

There's one on Copart for sale. Now if only I had $21,000 for what the seller wants for the buy it now price...

That 210 must be the total shipping weight. The bumper doesn't weigh that much, even with a winch and steel cable. I think the bumper alone is something like 75-80 pounds. I don't remember, but i installed mine (with winch) by myself.

No idea, but that's a lot of extra weight. Maybe a crate. Mine came shrink-wrapped on a pallet.

Got a call from the mechanic and the 4.7 is good. Hold compression and all. Still going to rebuild it just so it will be like new. Rear axle on the other hand is bad broken teeth on the pinon and ring gear. Probably from the shock of the roll over. But it's ok, it had the wrong gear ratio anyway.

The SKU# are different. One set is for 95-00 and the other is for 01-04. The SKU# for the 01-04 is 5007872 and the one for 95-00 is SKU # 5008022.

I’m not sure if the tail light wiring is the same. In those years. If some can verify if wiring is the same in those models I don't see why you can't get the cheaper ones to save a few bucks.

The whole reason why I got the tail lights was because I was trying to figure out my wiring problem I had.

I don’t know if you saw my post about a tacoma width rear end with 8.4 tundra diff. They come on 1st gen DC auto 2.7 motor. Those rear ends will do for the V8. But I still think the 8” will be fine. Just don’t drive like an ass clown.

Use a multimeter and check that wire to ground for continuity.

You'd think finding the actual weight wouldn't be that difficult. It seems that question is asked often. According to Expeditions West, it weighs 78 lbs without a winch.

I bought it knowing it ran though, haha. It jus started to crap out on me after we drove it off the trailer.

I plan on restoring it. Going to strip the whole truck down and repaint it and give it some much needed body work.

That is of course if I can get a title for it from the DMV.

The mood at the DMV here is like going into a building that just kills puppies all day. They even play that depressing elevator music.
