    The stock ifs and rear axle is stronger on a Tacoma than the 30/35/8.25. Having owned both, I was constantly blowing up the d30, only broke one CV on a Tacoma running 200:1 through it.

    Then you are swapping both axles on a Jeep and redoing the suspension (practically bolt on now a days) or doing an SAS on a Toyota.

    No idea what shop rate would be on anything since I just bought a welder and figured it out.

    Having owned 3 Jeep's and a toyota, you definitely need to be more of a fabricator to build a Toyota, especially a late model, built into a crawler. Jeep's are practically a Lego set these days.

    i don't know who started comparing taco's to jeeps but at the end of the day unibody builds are shit it's tons of work for something that will not last unless you expo the fucking thing. There is a reason the Jk still has a frame and all the other jeeps don't.

    Edit. i mostly know what i'm talking about seeing how as i'm the guy everyone in my town pays to build their jeeps. There are on average 3 jeeps in the shop every day except today i get to do a refresh on a H1 oh joy.

    Which sucks because the xj and zj platforms are cool platforms for wheelers. Thank God 3rd gen 4runners are a good option! Still sucks you have to SAS them if you really want to crawl with them.

    thinking about building one for my little girl here in the next three years so might as well start looking for parts now. thinking of finding a wrecked 4-500CC 4 wheeler and using it with some suzuki solid axles.

    My cruiser started with radius arms but yes its 3 linked. As for the 4runner he SAS'ed it with toyota axles/leaf springs first then did a (very) long arm 3 link with 1 tons.
