OK, Just got me a new truck. 2010 dbl cab short box trd. Ran a *^$@* chevy blazer for a while and finally got the balls to buy a mans truck. I have a few questions that I'm gonna ask that most likely are buried in this site somewhere I just cant find.
    1) not sure if/when I should have the AUTO LSD engaged
2)Is it worth getting a real locker installed for my off-roading
3)Ive heard of both 'chipping' and super-charging but not sure of the actual benifits (ie. fuel economy vs power)
4)what grade of fuel should I be using and would that change with any mods?
5)how did i not buy one of these SWEET machines a loooooooong time ago?

Thanks for any answers in advance guys.
    Matt

supercharger. turbo is useless on the trails. belt driven, low end power, reliable with little maintainence (coming from a turbo afficianado haha). Turbo would be fine if you were in an X-runner but you'll never utilize it in the dirt.

always high octane. cleaner burn and detonation.

Thanks for the warm welcome so far all. I heard premium can hurt the engine if it was designed for it.....any truth to that?

    2) I had a 97 Taco for 7 years and needed lockers maybe twice... Alota years in UT so wasn't baby stuff ether.

    4) As long as motor doesn't knock...use 97.

    Just what I think..

OK, so general consensus is high octane. (nice vid Namyo). I have wanted the real locker a few times with my blazer. Snow has been an issue mostly, good ol Canadian winters in the bush. But 2k is not pocket change for me. Are there other mods I should make first for performance?

Intake/Exhaust is all you really need until you get forced induction :). My 4.0 has 2nd filter mod/ no muffler w lift and tires and I smoke ford and chevy trucks all day :) . minus that STS Silverado hahah

The computer will (slowly) adjust the timing to compensate for the higher octane--part of the "VVT-I". Higher octanes don't hurt anyway. Low octanes like the 85 you see sold in some states will make most engines knock and hurt the performance/fuel efficiency when the knock sensor retards the spark

OK, keep in mind that im fairly new to this.....no idea what forced induction is and what should be done to intake or exhaust that isn't just for looks or sound?
