Its worth the money to buy the Chemical guys stuff. There are a couple other brands out there as well that will do the job too.

When I got home from Bastrop I suited up to pressure wash the undercarriage, wheels, wheel wells and front ends of both rigs. Other than that I left the mud on the body until this weekend where we'll do a full detail on both rigs. Having a ceramic coating on the paint sure does make it much easier to knock off the dirt and overall keep the paint protected.

Yeah man! There are several options out there to choose from. The easiest IMHO would be to use Optimum's "Opti-Gloss". ( https://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Glos...TF8&qid=1518543163&sr=1-1&keywords=opti+gloss ) It is very forgiving when it comes to applying vs. others where you really have to pay attention to where you're applying and how much product you're using. With ceramic coatings if you apply too much in one spot you'll end up with high spots in the paint which typically have to be removed with a polisher and start over unless you catch it as you're going and wipe it away before it starts to cure.

The main thing behind ceramic coatings is the prep work before application. The better the paint looks by removing swirls/scratches etc first, the better the results will be with the coating. Main reason I use ceramic coatings is the longevity and how after a wash it looks like you just waxed it.

Anytime my man! I love talking about detailing. Used to run a side business detailing a lot of exotic cars here in Austin on weekends and picked up a lot of knowledge/experience based on every job. I also used to read endless threads on autogeek and autotopia . org's forums. If you ever need to borrow a DA Polisher just hit me up.

I really cant wait!!! Not trying to rush the fabricator though.

Its got some custom options (fill plates on the wings, custom light bar cutout, other custom cutout)

Should be here late March early April. Gives me plenty of time to get the front suspension up to snuff.

I got some sweet pics of your truck, mind if I share some tonight?

EDIT: Pelfreybilt makes a beautiful product!

Hell yeah dude it was great to meet you and the rest of the squad! Lets meet up again soon broski.

And I've got a good story about that OR Prerunner. Actually bought it at a Ford dealership looking at F-150's. Was convinced I had to go with a full size 4x4. And then I saw that sucker sitting in the used parking lot with 22,000 miles on it with the wheels and tires already installed (and of course the locker since it was an OR) and I was sold. Figured I'd be okay with a 2wd anyways. Bought it the next day and haven't regretted it since. :bananadance:
