Wasn't that what the LS motor series made for? Cheap tire shredding motors for s10's, Tacomas and rangers

Light/dark colors make an amazing difference in heat and sun absorption. Why a lot of the overland vehicles paint the roofs white...

I saw someone do a 2JZ swap on here and it inspired me. Guess you're right about the engine swapping thing with the 2JZ - it's also an Inline 6 so it would be hard cramming that in the truck.

I'd totally do a turbo... if it wasn't illegal in California. I believe it's only legal if it was an option from the factory.

I'll do some testing when I get home - gotta pick up the 80A fuse from the parts store if I can find one. Might drop by Pick & Pull and see if I can buy a battery and rob off of a 4Runner probably.

Today I registered my SX! :woot: Drove it to work. What a fun happy lil truck. Driving a stock taco makes me think..why did i change anything? Great little truck.

So I was hearing a some noise and I thought it might have been the carrier bearing but it looks like fluid from the diff... Anyone know what part needs replacing?

yeah i have 3 1st gens now. Bought a 95 single cab SX few weeks ago.

Ben..idk. I know he is selling the 3rd gen.

thats a pinion seal failure. And hopefully only that!

Not too hard to swap out. Just need to do it right. Diff isn't making the noise is it? like rattling? Clicking?

can you grab the drive shaft and move the pinion?

No nothing constant. I’m maybe 4 miles from home, think I should drive it home?

Well im guessing you can't check the oil level but id bet 4 miles will be okay if its been sitting a bit. keep your speed below 50.

Nice! Miss my first gen... have a 2nd gen in the driveway and I’d trade it any day for a first.

@m3bassman what’s wrong with the 3rd gen? Besides everything.

Every once in awhile it makes some noise but it’s only for a second or two. Definitely would be under 50. Is the bearing and seal a PITA to do? Never done it.

Okay just read. It needs to be Carb Certified, and then you have to take it to be Re-Smogged to be legal. Some adjustments to the fuel delivery system to make it pass emissions.

2nd gen? When did that happen?

Yeah i love it. Great to have 3 haha

Seal is pretty easy. Bearing...not so much. Thats a full diff tear down and rebuild.

Jesus how long have you been gone? he finished that ages ago. Already been wheeling with it
