I never put clear bra on mine and they look as good as new. You mainly have to worry about clear bra on headlights.

They are looking into full length for the 3rd gen and the 5th gen Right now just getting the core racks developed and out on the market. Prices are not set yet but will be soon. That's Brian's 4r. We traded Petras last November. She now has a 2018 SR5 Premium.

I believe that was in the works next. One of the Owners drives a 2nd gen so they already have a development platform.

I don’t think Toyota is the least bit worried about a Furd. It will come and go like a lot of things they put out. It will sell at first then will decline because the new cool factor will wear off and those people will go back to a full size. Toyota knows who buys the Taco and it’s been at the top and will remain there even with the janky TurdGen. Ford has zero ability to have Ford and Reliability in the same sentence. Never mind resale value, which they don’t even have an ounce of capability in.

It has the "looks" but when you read the specs on it, what would ever influence you to buy it? When (if?) they bring it to N. America anyway, why get something that is obviously purely "show" and not a lot of "go"? I guess you could say I am not impressed... and when we were shopping, I pushed HARD with the boss to go for a Raptor, until the price and the "exclusivity" mark up was brought to the table. Those things are fast!!! But, one could buy 2 Tacos for a Raptor, and I'll take reliability + cool for the win Alex.

Idk, I owned two Rangers (well, one was technically my dad's) before my Tacoma, and they weren't that bad, reliability-wise. Not as reliable as my Tacoma, but still reasonably good.
Resale value was the reason I/we went with the Ranger - you could buy three Rangers for what you could buy a taco for, at least in the V6 extended cab 4x4 flavor. The fist Ranger was a long term loaner vehicle that my dad loaned me for me senior year of high school/two years of college. I got my own car and gave it back. The other Ranger I got later and rolled it, while driving it to mexico- a 9 hr drive that I did fairly often. And in between, I did plenty of driving up and down i-25 and to monarch, loveland, a-basin, every other weekend for snowboarding.
Honestly, if they can keep the price reasonable, they will put a huge dent in the Taco market. Toyota isn't bulletproof anymore (look at the 3rd Gen issues) and in reality, the ranger was only 'unrealiable' because we compare it to the high standard of 1st Gen tacos, 4runners, and hilux of that era. It's actually just fine, which for some people, because fine doesn't mean excellent, it means trash.

I'm not a Ford Fan boy but when was the last time you even looked at a Ford truck? They have gotten way better than they were in the 80-90-00's. And resale is right on par with the 2nd gen tundra when comparing same/similar years. IMO the extremely high price of new vehicles has driven used prices up the last couple years for all makes across the board.
