It's something about CARB and SMOG regulations on aftermarket equipment. Even my Cold Air Intake would be illegal without the CARB certification sticker.

 

It's a big change, that I'm not 100% about yet. But I'm having some fun with it and gas was $2.19 the other day so that's neat.

 

Gotta pay your $10k bill to satisfy the mafia bosses that run the air resources board. Otherwise they don't let you sell your products.

mechanically it wasnt bad. it was all the computer stuff that ruined it for me. i'd love a 6 speed in my first gen though lol

FWIW the 3rd gen T4R still is in play... Basically a first gen taco.

 

But it has a snorkel!

 

3rd gen 4Runner is always in the back of my mind when I'm road tripping/camping with my GF and daughter stuffed into the back of the xtra cab.

But I use my bed a lot for hauling so I can't imagine not having that space.

 

We should vote him off the boat for that.

DC is the best of both worlds. More room for humans, more cargo room than t4r, not too much less than what you have now.
