Savage model 10 in 223. I just picked one up and its shooting half inch groups at 100 yards

Top was the first group, adjusted, shot the 2nd and made a final adjustment

I already have an 11 in 30-06 (total overkill for varmint shooting, even with a lightweight round it'd demolish even a big coyote). I have been considering the Axis for the price point vs the 10, but it may be worth getting the 10 for the accutrigger.

Now I'm tempted to buy something in a magnum caliber for getting out past 1k yards... but thats another rifle, scope and caliber of ammo i have to keep on hand. Probably should wait a little while and upgrade what ive got

Yeah, and the Axis pops up on sale pretty regularly for around $275-300, same as the 783's. But, like I said, the 10 might end up being worth it for the Accutrigger.

I love my axis, I bought the Axis II XP, came with a scope (bleh) and Accutrigger, worth every penny. Missed the sales though:annoyed:

Does the Axis II come with the Accutrigger? I didn't realize that it did.

Yeah, it made the scope package worth it for me. If you're not planning on putting a better optic on it it's worth it. I don't think you can get the accutrigger without the scope though, so if you're planning on putting any kind of decent optic on it the 110 might be worth the extra scratch. My optic has been great though, so ymmv.

Gotcha. I had planned on getting a blank gun and putting $100-200 scope & a halfway decent set of rings on it, yes.

went into my local store today after staying away from visiting them for months trying to be a good little boy lol

well turns out they recently took in a saiga sporter and now I am fighting the typical temptations...

any opinions out there on these? they are no longer imported, this is the first one I have come across at my local shop.

also handled a shockwave for the first time, also kinda tempting

so much for staying away from evil temptations ey :spending:

I have a saiga, it originally came in the sporter configuration. It is easy to switch to regular ak status if you are so inclined. What does a saiga run nowadays? I got mine for 300, and put about another 100 in it to convert.
As far as good or not, I love mine. It’s a Russian ak. If they can’t do it right well no one can.

I live in NY so for the foreseeable future I won't be converting it if ever honestly
Being in NY it is not cheap either.... they slapped a 700$ tag on it :anonymous::bananadead: I know... I am thinking I can shave 100 off that since they know they always get my business.
the fact that this is russian and a reliable ammo eater makes me want one, I can deal with it not being all too accurate

Don't let that accuracy thing fool you. Inside 200 yds I am about 3moa. It's a battle rifle so it's not a tack driver. I am not a tack driver.
