Yes Point Pleasant Beach is a nice family friendly place.

Allaire State Park is close by, and has a working locomotive and historic village, also good for families.

If the weather was warmer, I'd offer a ride in my sprint boat. But make sure you get a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich if you haven't tried one before.

Now residing in Delaware...as well. Have you been down to the C&D Canal yet? There are a few trails around there...I was there this past Sunday after the rains, I was spoken to by a Maryland DNR officer, he just wanted to make sure i was on a "Gravel Road." This spot was around the 39.545763, -75.756493 entrance.
