Does it take the tire size into consideration when it’s giving you the MPGs?

It’s a bigger rotation since you up sized the tires.

Hey guys, hoping for some insight on this. I just replaced my stock LCA's with the dirt kings stock length LCA's. Took it this morning to get an alignment done and the drive to work felt a little weird but wasn't sure if it was cause i've been driving with an f'd up alignment for so long.

Took it out to the dirt during lunch to check it out and the ride up front is stiff as all hell almost like if my shocks were seized up but they were fine yesterday and had them rebuilt by DSM about 6 months ago. There's a small oil spot under the coils on the driver shock but that's it.

i tried bouncing the front end with my body weight and it barely budges.

Is something bound up, like bushings or uniballs over tightened?

uniball to the spindle i torqued to Dirt kings spec....150ftlbs which i thought was pretty high. bolts on the alignment tabs im nut sure if the shop over tightened, I'll have to check all that when i get home.

150 sounds high, but then again it's a lower control arm uniball and I have zero experience with that. It wasn't one of those things where they say tighten to 150 to seat and then loosen to 115 or anything like that right?

@glorifiedwelder or @Speed Freek any experience with the lower control arm uniball torque spec for stock length dirt king lowers?
Or what could be causing them to bind up, or act in such a way that the suspension can't cycle.

na nothing like that, bolt to the spindle were 160ftlbs and uniball @ 150ftlbs, didn't mention anything about loosing them after seating. I'm trying to find the instruction online just to triple check.

The torque on the uniballs is fine. It isn’t causing your problem. I doubt it’s the cam tabs either. But torque on those is 155 ft*lbs. without seeing the truck it’s a tough call. Jumping on the front won’t really tell anything. My front end is pretty soft but doesn’t move much under my own weight.

I can say that back when I was mid travel I had the same lower control arms and my suspension felt much different up front with the DK lowers. Partially due to the added rigidity of the arms and partially due to the much stiffer delrin bushings.

that would make sense when compared to the soft bushing on the stock LCA's.....and the fact that mine were toast too! guess i'll recheck the torque on everything and go from there.

Thanks guys for jumping in so quick! :fistbump:

 steering definitely feels tight and all the small rocks i roll over i can feel though the cab which is what had me worried. Last time it felt like that i seized up my rear stock shocks.

Yeah my suspension is nice a tight now after full rebuild with TC UCA and LCA.

I do have a clunk on the passenger side that I noticed after wheeling last weekend. On the street there is no clunk and the drivers side was quiet.

I'm just resigning to the fact that clunks are going to haunt me forever with this truck. Well...I did order new steering rack bushings that I'm going to try and install tomorrow or the next day, so we'll see if that does it. But I'm mentally preparing myself for disappointment lol.

Yeah same here...I just check to make sure nothing is leaking or coming loose. I keep checking the ball joints just for peace of mind and they look good, because that's one thing I definitely don't want to have fail on me. Outside of that, just gonna roll with it unless I get lucky and figure it out some other way.

Well at least you know the bumper noise isn't anything potentially dangerous lol. Last time I saw Mike his steering rack bushings were shot and were clunking like mad which gives me some hope that I might be looking at the same issue. I can feel it in the steering wheel when it happens and it's started happening while going straight sometimes too now, after wheeling last weekend. Back of my mind I still fear it might be my CV axles but I figured it would have at least gotten better for a short while after putting the new CVs in, but nope.

Anyway hopefully it's figured out before Mojave Rd end of next month...bringing a spare CV with me just in case lol.

I always assumed it was normal for LT rigs to sound like a bucket of bolts and wrenches being shaken around

Yep. Clunks and mysterious squeaks will always haunt our trucks. I can't figure out my latest clunks are going on 7 days without even the slightest hint of what it is....
