Does anyone have these headlights?

No problem, just curious. I guess I’ll just have to get them and figure it out

 

What is it about the OEM bulbs that makes them not fit? Too long?

 

The base. Completely different ways of securing the bulb to the housing. Look at my last few posts. I posted pics of both the stock bulb and the bulb that’s used to go in these lights

 

Ok I see. So these lights must come with their own harness that plugs into the truck. I probably should have figured this all out before ordering them lol

Yes... at least the ones from Tacoma beast do. Idk anything about any others. Not sure which ones you ordered

 

The ones I ordered are literally the same pictures as the ones on Tacomabeast, so the same lights.

Not to my knowledge... but I’m not a bulb expert lol. Just never heard of a dual filament h9 bulb. I could be wrong lol. I’ve even tried searching for one and can’t find it

 

Lights are the one thing I just ask the guy at the auto parts store for bulbs, buy them, and put the in. Never knew it was this complicated..

 

It’s not lol. I don’t think a dual filament h9 bulb exists though. If anyone knows otherwise, I’d be interested in seeing it

 

I responded to the eBay seller as if I knew my shit. I told him that doesn’t exist, awaiting reply.

 

Tacoma Beast customer service rep I've been talking to about these lights since I bought them said the same thing. It's an H9 bulb that does hi/lo. So I emailed back to confirm its a "dual filament" H9

 

All I know is that the highs and lows work on mine and its an H9, so maybe they do exist but they are just rare?

I didn't examine the bulb when I took it out to see what style it was. I should have though oh well. Someone out there should know the answer

 

He just emailed back and said "Yep. It is dual with both high and low"

So, there you go ladies and gentlemen. I'm going to trust this guy knows what he is talking about. I don't know if that is wise or not but I'm not really worried about it right now. When I decide to upgrade the bulbs I'll figure it out but I do want to so that sooner than later

 

Great, my eBay ones don’t come with bulbs. Maybe I’ll email Tacomabeast and ask exactly which bulbs they’re shipping with.

 

I Googled “H9 dual filament” and I can’t find them. There are some discussions about how they don’t exist, so I have no idea.

 

I'm in the same boat. I do know that the H9 comes in the unit from Tacoma Beast so you don't have to email them. I already asked that question over the weekend.

I'll just have to take out the bulb this week sometime and look at the damn thing and see what the deal is.

It was actually Pro Tuning Labs that I emailed, so I asked them, and the eBay seller. I’ll post back if I get anything from them that may help. They both said H9 dual filament..

The 12-15 lights have a projector it works like any other projector, look it up. It will take a single filament bulb, there is a mechanical flap inside the projector. This flap moves down when the high beams are activated this flap also gives you the nice cutoff line that you see.
