I think Toyota should be honestly. I am hesitant to say a tacoma is "reliable" anymore unless we are still talking 1st gens, and a portion of second gens. My dad has had several Fords, all reliable. Its all about each personas personal experience with each vehicle. Will Ford kill toyota, no probably not ever if Toyota gets their heads out there ass. But Ford is definately smart in what they are doing. And resale has been holding strong for the new f150s and powerstrokes. I know because I have been watching it for the last few years waiting to see for deals.

Not to throw the taco or tundra in the ground, but there is a reason many on this forum have gone away from the toyota yet stay here to converse. That being said I would still like a new taco/tundra, but neither is at teh top of my list.

the raptor ranger is a cool idea, won't be worth the high tag i would imagine, and wish the interior didn't look like a focus, but I like where they are pushing the market. Look at all the stuff from Chevy and Ram on their trucks lately. Dodge just annouced all the Mopar add ons to their trucks, and the ZR2 is definately a thing. The raptor and zr2 make the pro look just sad. Just my humble opinion.

Sorry for introducing hard facts to all this brand BS but no one on earth comes close to Ford F- whatever Sales. from WSJ- see bottom for who they use.

My main complaint with Tacoma is Crappy HP & MPG, with no option to go HP over crappy fuel economy if buyer so chooses. Plus, I want a Diesel option, there is no excuse in this day and age of not giving customers this option.

Those #'s really aren't that impressive considering that's 5 vehicles.

There goes your diesel option, lol. With #'s like that, it's more likely Toyota will kick their feet up and have another 10 year span of the 3rd Gen, just like they did the 2nd Gen.

If you want a reliable Diesel Toyota option, you have to select who you vote for very carefully. The Diesel makes no sense to Toyota because of the current emissions standards causing unneeded reliability issues caused by emissions components. Couple those issues with the fact that less than 5% of the sales would be to people who actually want one or would pay extra for one, would never make up for the development costs. It is a dead argument at this point.

My guess is that Furd F number is not only 5 models but probably also includes business sales for all sorts of companies. There is no way Furd sold 59k vehicles in one month to individual consumers.

And who the phuck is buying the Chevy Equinox!?!

The only diesel I'd be interested in would be at least 15 years old anyway.
They've ruined all the diesels now.
Before I bought the Tacoma, I was entertaining the idea of swapping a 4cyl bread truck diesel in my 2000 ranger
