2018 Tacoma OEM Remote start(Push Button)

Just a heads up I got a call today from my dealer that they finally came out with the remote start for the Push Button start 2018 Tacoma's,getting mine installed monday.

 

How much ? How is this different from the 12 volt solutions

 

or difference than the kb voodoo kit

 

The only question that matters. Does the truck remain on after you open the door?

 

There has always been one for push button start.

I don't know maybe the 18's are different because of the Tss,all I know is ive been waiting since I bought my truck in Jan. for it.

 

I doubt it is any different than any kids for the '16 or '17, is just now seems that the dealer offers it as before I didn't think they did

 

got it in the 2018 rav4 se.........key in pocket, hit button once with foot off brake = acc..........hit button twice for on (lights on dash and windows will roll down).........hit button once with foot on brake to start. when running and in park hit button once to shut off. haven't tried getting out with it running. it has something else where you grab the door handle and it will lock or unlock doors. Wife's car, dunno much more about it except I stripped the 2013 trade in of the homelink mirror, k&n filter, exh tip, ventguards, cargo carpet, full set of oem all weather mats/cargo mat and rack crossbars. Also got a new set mudflaps since they are different, before leaving dealership. magnetic gray....like this.(not our pic but same unit)..........

It was supposed to be installed on my truck the day I picked it up and the service dept. called me and said they were given the wrong info ,they were going to install one from the 16/17's but they were not the same remotes.

 

lol, that's what I get checkin shit out at work all divided attentionlike..........nevermind. hmmm, now do I delete the errant post? nah, fuck it

 

At least you got paid for it...

 

I don't know the price of it I wouldn't buy the truck if they didn't throw it in at no charge,as far as OEM one vs.aftermarket what they told me was if there was a short circuit and burned your truck down then it was all on you and the goodness of your ins. co. this way they install and if it burns down they cover it free of charge or replace truck.

 

Sounds fishy if it’s actually OEM. You should get the part numbers.

 

I will probably get that when I take the truck in on monday to be installed,part number to me is irrelevent all I want is my remote start put in.All they did was call me to set up a date to install it.

 

Exactly which means they may put a non OEM starter in it which is why you should check.
