Whoever had this truck from 1997-2015 and drove it 400,000 miles had it registered to a company. Probably why it has two heavy gauge steel cross members going under the bed to hold a fifth wheel.

And whoever had it after that abused the hell out of it because there is cured concrete throughout the bed and a whole bunch of manure and garbage.

Oh I see it! I'll have to go check the truck when I get home. Thanks!

Now what's the best way to reattach a wire to this - it's too thick to solder and crimp. I have no clue.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
I wouldn't reattach to that, too short it would pull apart and the open end means it has been corroded too. If you have a hydraulic crimper you can make a new cable with some 6ga or 4ga and copper lugs. If you measure I can crimp and send you one too.

I'll let you know - Thanks!

Now I gotta remove the fifth wheel hitch and sawzall the old bedliner before my neighbors get mad - because my front yard looks like a pick-n-pull right now.

Mine is a 4x4 V6, so not sure if there is a difference, but here is what mine looks like...

    20180213_185841.jpg

From @BartMaster1234 picture it looks like it is from the battery negative post....

My neighbors have a couple pigs in their front hard.

I’ll tell you that your bed liner probably smells and looks better than that.

I went to buy some oil and a filter, but I forgot my card at my house so that didn’t happen...

One wire goes deep into the engine which is the heavy gauge wire and one grounds on the fender.

I have a weird feeling that ground Cable is causing everything to keep burning fuses.

If you look deeper into the positive Harness there will be a 'Y' in which one wire goes to the positive post and the other one is cut on my truck

I also have a Nazi-esque HOA that threaten to put a lien on the homes if you don't pay the fines for not conforming to their "appearance code"

I got fined for having my engine hoist and old toolbox exposed to the street OVERNIGHT

That's exactly my thought process. Especially a 5-lug. I don't know who buys a compact pickup to tow loads that necessitate a fifth wheel.

Whoever did used it for 400k miles because during that time it was registered to a company fleet.

The one that goes "deep into the engine" should be the ground to the block where @buckmaster243 shows in his pics, below the oil filter. Trace the wire that comes off the negative and find out where it goes. It's possible that someone cut it and ran a new wire. The only other wire that I have that comes out of that loom in that location is the positive to the distribution/fuse box.
