Yeah, he gets all the nice things. Their "stock" room is ridiculous. The last time I was in there they had like 50 ARB bumpers, 50 sets of Duratracs, all sorts of lights, etc. Dumb.

Now it's probably just full of SCS wheels and superchargers.

Not really. We let Vin know what we would like in stock and he adds it to his build order from the factory. What we order doesn't affect their website and how quickly they sell out.

I have the summit bumper from them. The only issue I have with it is that the mounting brace interferes with the king resi mount. I was only able to mount the resi mount with one bolt. Other than that I love the bumper.

Weld the tabs for the resi on top of the frame instead of the side. It's a pretty common issue.

Speaking of pelfreybilt, how in the actual fuck does a set of bare sliders start at $655 from them!!?? $1100 for plated and powder coat add on!? Plus shipping!? I guess I haven't shopped for armor in a while, but holy shit thats ridiculous. And I thought Wilco was wild at $800 for a tire gate + shipping. /rant

CBI, Mobtown, Relentless are in that ballpark as well.

What I don't understand is why these fab companies don't identify their like 5 most popular products and just keep them in stock.

Supply and demand. 'You want em and we want your money... all your money.' I just bought a set from Relentless and not only were they $700 'on sale' but they took 4 months to get here.

That too, lead times starting at 8wks out. I can see the plate bumpers taking more time, but any decent fabricator should be able to bang out 3, if not more sets of sliders a day.

The offroad game is all fucked up. 3 sets of sliders would pay for a nice welder and probably half the material. I just can't see where that number comes from. I guess big shops can charge the big bucks.

Time to fine tune my crusher welds I guess. If something breaks around here, we weld it up and pour the heat to her! I hate vertical welding, mine turn out looking like a seagull flew by and shit all over the work area.

$200 for the material, ~150 in wages for the fab guy to do all the work (wages plus insurance, L&I, healthcare, ect), factor in some overhead costs into the price and it makes a bit more sense.

Yeah I paid $300 for mine installed. I didn't have a welder or the material but I knew a guy. About 4hrs and we where done, with beer breaks.

Yeah when you factor in all the other parts of the equation it adds up, but fuck me. Seems like it would be more profitable to have a small shop with low overhead, allowing you to price cut the competition, and just bang out fab work all day everyday. Also setting a cutoff for orders to keep the lead times down. I realize the last thing you want to do as a business is turn people away, but for sanity sake keep it to something that is manageable.:notsure:
