Adding 33s started kicking in my VSC in certain conditions. My VSC light stayed on after the initial procedure, so I went through the steps again, this time very carefully. I used an alligator clip jumper wire. I cut it in half and stripped a half inch off, then taped the ends into/onto the slots to make sure they didn't lose contact during the process. This made it easier to observe the dashboard. Now the VSC light is no longer on. Success!! I think before I jostled the truck or it wasn't perfectly level, or one of my connections at the OBD wasnt good. Either way, it appears to have worked this time.:):):)[IMG][IMG]

Changed oil (Mobile 1 5x30) and filter (Toyota OEM), reset maintenance clock, thoroughly cleaned and detailed under the hood and lubed the five driveshaft zerk fittings. It's almost like you can feel the difference.

New wheels! I hoped this would cure all my rubbing problems. However, sometimes you fix one problem and create another. I used to rub bad on the UCA at full lock reverse, now I rub bad on the fenders and pinch weld (I’ve already hacked them back and pounded the pinch weld, but could do more). At least I can work with that. I don’t really want to cut any of the UCA.

Right now I’ve got 1.25 inch spacers in the front, and 2.0 inch in the rear, so I plan to remove the rears and put the 1.25s in the front to see if that helps a bit. That’s what’s causing the rub. Plus, I think they are sitting a little too wide.

The wheels are VTX Vipers in 17x8.5, -10 offset. Tires are 35/12/5/17 MT/Rs.

VTX doesn’t get a lot of love of this forum, but they were selling these wheels used a smoking good price, and the rep I worked with was a pleasure to work with and very helpful. So, for what’s worth I had a good experience dealing with them!

    Enjoy.

Ha, why, to ensure my tenure as "well-known member" on TW?

Jokes aside, I'm really happy with the wheels. Don't get me wrong, I think SCS's are the gold standard, but I paid $600 for five wheels shipped. Even with them being a little scratched up, it's hard to beat that price.

I suppose for me it's like many things in life. I want to support companies I feel align with my values, but end up buying half my stuff from cheap Amazon sellers...

That's about what I paid for my pro comps. Hard for me to pay more when I know they're just going to get scratched to shit anyway.

Ya man! Happy to. I'm in Arlington, so relatively close. I've been meaning to make it to a local meet-up and keep failing. I know you guys are pretty active.

those guys dont go off road enough for me. I mostly gave up with them. I would like to see my truck in Arlington. Just way out of place.

Might be moving to PNW though
