Oh yeah, and how much slobber went flying when you smashed a soggy tennis ball?
    :D

I'd use the flinger, except, it's just one more thing I'd have to carry. Screw it. My dogs seem to find a tennis ball on our walks 7 times outta 10. But I tend not to throw them anymore. Sadie has hurt her back a couple times trying to contort herself to get the ball in mid flight, or pull a muscle trying to turn after an overrun of the ball. She's too intense. No more ball throwing for her.

My dog started out like that. If you are really good at tossing a frisbee you can throw it consistently and they get into a rhythm and not torque the body too much. Later on he was much more fluid.

Just my story.Used to throw racquetballs to rottweiller. He was playing with one one day by himself, punctured a hole and ended up swallowing it.Didn't realize till he stopped eating a couple days later.Emergency surgery attempted.passed away a couple days later from the infection. So be careful with the big breads and racquet balls.

Voice command "Kennel up" and treats. My Dog will be out in the woods at the house I can yell "Kennel up" and his ass will race to the kennel inside the house for a treat. He stay's in the Kennel when Kids come over to visit, He is not fond of Kids for some unknown reason.

My dude has been with me for 4 days now, I lure him in with a treat and say “crate”. He goes in, sometimes he sleeps/he’s quiet. Sometimes he whines and whines. Did you experience the same thing?

He’s very fond of one of my blankets and always flocks to it when I let him on the couch or free roam the living room. I gave him the blanket tonight and lined the bottom of the crate with it over the sleep pad. Soon as I said crate he went in a lot faster and followed my hand with the treat. Plopped down and moved the blanket around then passed out with zero whines. Hoping that lasts.

When you're working on crate training, be careful not to use the crate as punishment. Riley's sitting on the couch right now-if I say "in your crate" he'll be in in heartbeat. When he was a pup, he pretty much lived in his crate for the first few weeks because I also used it to potty train him.

He doesn't spend much time in there but on occasion, he'll go lie in it.

I have had my Dog since He was 9 weeks old (he is 8 years old now) Post # 19175 and I started him then. He never put up a fuss. I have never used the crate for punishment. It was his home while we were at work.(we are retired now) He earned his way to stay out all day and night by not tearing up anything and not pissing everywhere.
Just be patient and work with him. Most of the problems people have with there pets is their fault not the pets fault.
You are off to a real good start using your sent on a shirt or blanket for comfort. They learn quick My Daughter has the most perfect well behaved Black lab on the planet.
