A better season maybe. A Vezina worthy season absolutely not. Leafs fans must be so used to terrible goaltending that they see a a half decent season and think its other worldy

Lot's of talk about Andersen getting a nomination for Vezina. Don't get salty. Remember he had a sewer month in October and yet is over a .920 save percentage. He is one of the top goalies right now.

That being said the goalie in Tampa will have to fuck up royally not to win the Vezina this year.

 

Not salty, just a realist. His stats for the year, which are all the matter, are meh in terms of likelihood for the Vezina or even a nomination.

 

He’s in that conversation right now, as in a conversation for the Vezina nominations from the media who I believe vote on the Vezina.

Anyways this is all based off an Andersen versus Gibson arguement. It’s tough to say who won or lost when neither team has a cup with either goalie and both still have lots of career left.

Thats because your looking at a simple stat sheet. If you factor in the amount of shots / work he's had he is having a bitter season than any goalie since 2009 Cam Ward seeing all the rubber he is. Before that was Lou over 10 years ago

 

Coyotes have two wins in a row!!!! Of course this is the week I don't record the games either. Glad they got a win over the Sharks!!!!

 

Gibson this year:
GP-43 W-19 GAA- 2.58 SV%- .922

Anderson this year:
GP-48 W-28 GAA- 2.65 SV%- .921

What am I missing? (besides Leafs bias)

 

The trophy is stat based. Pretty simple lol

If you're not top five in the three main goalie stat categories, the odds of you even sniffing at a nomination are slim to none.
