3rd Gen Tint Prices?

Hey guys, looked around and couldn't find much. I was curious who tinted their windows and how much it ran them.

I've looked around and people are saying the rear windows are between 25-30% tint.

I have the 2018 DCSB OR. Just curious how much I should expect to spend. Probably only looking to do the two front windows.

Just got quoted for the front two for $80. Good or bad?

 

750$ for my tint. Crystaline 3m. So ya 80$ is a steal haha.

 

Got a local shop (VA) to do all windows for $300 using 3m and lifetime warranty.

You have the top of line stuff for sure though.

 

With tint you definitely get what you pay for, lower cost= lower quality and it will more than likely bubble up.

You should spend no less than $200 for a good tint that will last

 

front 30%, rear 20%

this included front seat windows, back seat windows and rear windows.

edit : link to tint person in sig, they use Llumar Window Film. I have never had any issues with his work even when it hits -20F or -30F one year. never once bubbled or peeled or anything.

 

Ok so they are competitive. I am happy with that.

Was looking at doing it myself but after paying for everything i don't think i would save anything.

 

Yeah I would have it done at a trusted shop with good warranty...that way if it starts to bubble down the road you can make them fix.

 

I got 5% all the way around for $250 with a lifetime warranty. Guy does it out of his garage, I've taken all 3 of my vehicles and my dad's car to him. Had it done on my old truck 6 years ago and last I saw it driving around the tint still looked good as new. Don't be afraid to look into small local guys with good reviews.

I would like to support local shops. Maybe check craigslist or ask around. Definitely check the reviews

 

I did 3m on a car last year. I was less then impressed with 3m colorstable. Foggy in direct sunlight. The fog was not noticeable when not in direct sunlight. I used LLumar before on my vehicles and have never noticed any fog. My opinion is poor for 3M. Look for LLumar

As far as pricing goes. It varies from place to place and level of tint. Just find someone with a good reputation. Also I wait until the weather warms to do the tint so it sets in better.

 

Unfortunately where I live in NY driving with tint on front windows is asking to be pulled over and ticketed.

 

Most shops around here are $70-100 for the basic and $30-40 more for ceramic. I had ceramic before and really didn't feel much difference. On my Tacoma, I just went with the cheaper/basic film (Suntek) that had lifetime warranty. Check google or yelp and read reviews. I had a few 4.5+ star shops around me. Paid $80 and holding up great.

 

Contact your dealer? They always have somebody standing by

 

$250 for front removal, 18% carbon all around, and windshield strip. Go on Yelp and find a local one with great reviews and post in your region's subforum on TW.

 

Mine came with tint added at the dealer, hope it's decent. I don't remember what they added to the sticker for it, but it looks good.

 

Where are you located? I'm in Va., local guy has been doing mine for 15+ years and everyone
I know. I've never seen or heard of an issue with him, ever. Always perfect for years and years.

Just had the front windows peeled and redone for 140. State Troopers here seem to
be on a mission lately with window tint and with $100 bucks a pop for the citation I can
see why.... I was just 7% below the legal limit, no warning, no options, just a ticket here.

 

I feel for you, I have a lot of family in queens area. Here in Montana no one cares how dark your tint is
