I have a 2010 TRD Offroad 2wd with 110000 miles and my number of miles per gallon has fallen off lately. It has had regular maintenance and overall runs well. Have any of your had this issue and done anything to correct the issue? I run the Iridium plugs but have had them in for 50k. What about cleaning the fuel injectors? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I see you are in Texas, I am in New England. Every winter mileage drops off, change of formulation and just plain cold. I know Texas has had some pretty cold and wild weather this winter, wait until Spring and everything should go back to normal. I have read that Iridium plugs (from articles here) don't really help mileage. Last summer went back in with normal Denso plugs and my mileage went up a little.

Winter blend gas an in colder conditions vehicles run richer an air is more dense allowing more in the same allotted space. Therefore more fuel consumption you ever notice on cool day your truck is a little peppier that’s what’s happening. Hope this helps.

I don't think it is a Winter thing but I guess time will tell. It will be warm here some enough! ;-) I plan to go back to the standard plugs the next time I work on it...

It has stock sized tires and only an add-a-leaf in the back and 5150s. Pretty much stock suspension.

Not recently but that sounds like a great idea! What do you use to clean them?

4-banger? If not switch to Denso or NGK stock plugs. Can try to run some Seafoam through the Gas tank and intake as instructed on the bottle.

It is the 6 cylinder Pre-Runner. I have added Lucas Upper Cylinder Lubrication & Injector Cleaner several tank fulls recently.

Are those the same tank fulls you are getting lower mileage on? You could have dirty O2 sensors from all that intake/injector cleaner. Best way to make any real diagnoses would be with an obdii reader and associated phone app/laptop.

No, I usually run some of this every several months. I'll have to remove one of the O2 sensors and have a look but no codes are being reported.

Sensors don't always throw a code. Fuel trims as a "response" to O2 readings can be within a 20% swing and still not throw a code, but towards the boundaries can run rich/lean enough to drop mileage
